Whether the allegations are true or not, LSU looks very unstable at the moment. It is difficult to hire a staff when there’s a coach that may or may not be a .500 season away from getting canned, campus wide rape allegations, and potential NCAA sanctions in multiple sports.

Ole Miss had a similar issue after the 2016 season. We replaced 5 staff members and only 1 had experience with the same position at the D1 level. We had to hire an FCS OC and made one of the worst DC hires in the last decade in McGriff.

LSU needs some finality to these situations or it won’t improve much.

The perception is that Orgeron is a moron.

Meanwhile, schools up north seem to be turning against football altogether. Look at Harbaugh and Michigan

Except Ole Miss fired their head coach to appear proactive (though I still don’t understand how Bjork kept his job).

LSU is facing a worse fate with no clear exit strategy from O and Wade.

I think Wade being retained is a much worse sign than LSU fans realize. His lawyers clearly have LSU admin by the balls for some reason.

Not really considering OSU is in the NC game and stomped Clemson.

Hasn’t been relevant in a long time.

True - but I for one thought Harbaugh would bring them back to relevance. How wrong I was.

I’m referring to the staff hirings that were done immediately after the season. Hugh wasn’t fired until July 2017 and not for anything NCAA related.

Harbaugh improved them. Heading into this year they’ve alternated between 9 and 10 wins seasons for the most part.

When fans call for coach O to be fired one year from a NC. He then proceeds to fire the entire coaching staff.... Naw sounds stable to assistants.

Call me when Ole Miss sniffs Atlanta.

LSU’s problem is expecting to be great every year. Even Saban hasn’t pulled that off.

3 Offensive coordinators

3 Defensive Coordinators

It only so many times O can parlay the prospects of a 2019 type season happening again into actual stability.

Computer, show me a textbook example of denial.

So LSU is a non-factor in college football.

Why is the board so consumed with them?

Seems like perception and reality intersect at Coach O.

Michigan should have thrown a blank check atBrian Kelly after the Rose Bowl. He’s clearly maxed out at Notre Dame. He’s got some Michigan roots.

Literally LSU posters troll teams all day long. Either posters like yourself feign ignorance or are incredibly delusional.

True, but Marcus Freeman was still a whisker away from taking the job.
It wasn't the perceived instability that made him go to Notre Dame. He has 6 kids and both sets of grandparents are in their 70's and live up there.

I believe LSU will hire a competent coach when all is said and done. The DC job at LSU is too attractive.

The perception is that LSU turns a blind eye to rape allegations because that is exactly what they did.

Yes, it seems like that, but it is not really true... I think they made a good decision in keeping him, at least through the coming year at a reduced salary. I actually like Jim even though he is a little goofy. His record at Michigan is really not that bad.. His problem is he can't beat the good teams, especially OSU, which is a requirement at Michigan. Watching Michigan this year was more painful than watching LSU. They looked like a traumatized team, devoid of emotion on both sides of the ball. Playcalling and coaching were so horrible that it made me feel pity watching Harbaugh on the sidelines. I do think though that he is a good coach, and a Michigan legend. Most important for Michigan they like to hire 'Michigan men", which he certainly is.
