Fat cat booster just got sentenced to 33 months in a federal prison for stealing more than $500,000 from a hospital foundation and giving it to the parents of Vadal Alexander and Rohan Davey.
Is this guy y'all's version of Logan Young and Milton McGregor? I know that we have our jobs at Mercedes, and Auburn had the VictoryLand dog track. Is stealing money from hospital foundations LSU's preferred way of funneling money to players' families? Or was he just using the players to funnel money from the foundation into his own bank account? Davey's parents weren't paid until after he left LSU. As a guy with two Super Bowl rings, shouldn't he have made enough coin to take care of his mother and sister? $107K shouldn't have been much money to Davey. Plus, they were never patients at the hospital, and they also gave $63,000 back to Funes.
Gotta give y'all credit for coming up with some pretty creative ways of getting cash to players' families.

I mean...you kind of covered it. What else do you want to know?

Guess you didn't read about the story at all
Vadal was long gone when he was laundering the money through his parents. Same with Rohan. Essentially just used their parents as fricking pawns in a scheme to defraud the hospital.
Honestly had nothing to do with LSU football other than he used connections he made through it to launder the money.
Ok...back to your troll job

He embezzled money and got caught. Going to jail.

The money he gave to Davey's family was well after his playing days were over. Vadal Alexander is another story....

How so?

They were not players at the time. Had long since used up their eligibility. He used people he had met thru LSU to perpetrate his scheme. But they were not current players. Therefore your little conspiracy theory does not hold water.

Tell me why all 320 registered sex offenders that graduated from the University of Alabama end up living in Murpfressboro, TN?

Actually, I did read it. Seems like perhaps you didn't. Davey's family only gave back part the money. They apparently kept about $44,000 for themselves. So was this more than just Funes laundering money into his own account? Was that the fee the Daveys collected for their part in the operation? Or was it to settle an outstanding commitment made to get Davey to LSU in the first place?

I'll tell you that as soon as you tell me what upperclassman Burrow stole his championship ring from at Ohio State. I mean, since you were so certain that he got one there.

Ok you got us.
Davey’s parents were the LSU hitmen for years. Took out high value targets who might be threatening the status quo. Hundreds slaughtered.
Obviously they lost their edge over the years and we let them go. But “retiring” a hitman ain’t cheap. Hence the payments.

You didn’t mention that he embezzled the money for a fund that was supposed to pay for last wishes of kids dying of cancer.

I believe this was the case. And because he was a booster he had easy access to player families to con into being his patsy.
I've been personally told by a separate booster that there will likely be nothing that comes of this as far as LSU is concerned.

The guy is a piece of shite that maybe got off easy with a 33 month sentence, but it isn’t some huge scandal that will get LSU athletics in trouble like you are hoping.

JPF was a huge fan of LSU, but apparently he was more a fan of a life-style beyond the 200k the sisters where paying him to raise money. If this was really about paying for players, it would have come out in court already. FMOLHS and LSU are the two biggest organizations in BR, if you work for one, you probably have some connection to the other. That does not mean that connection would result in bad dealing. The sisters and they would NEVER knowingly tolerate that type of activity even to help LSU. They are too honest and ethical. I know this is a sports banter board, but this is not how FMOL operates. This is a simple case of a greedy man taking advantage of the trust of the sisters and various connections he made as their representative. It was about funding his life-style.

It appears to be more of a money laundering scheme through people he met as an LSU booster over actually using OLOL funds to pay for players.
Obviously Rohan was long gone. Either Vandal was already at LSU or gone when the payments started.
And I think Both were kicking money back to him which generally doesn’t happen when you are paying players.
So I think LSU is good as far as NCAA violations.
Obviously not a great look though.
