re: What exactly did Petrino say to Miles at mid-field after that LSU beatdown of Arkansas?
Posted by Tigerlawyer on 11/30/23 at 8:41 am
Miles told us that story at the Tiger Gridiron meeting. Petrino was pissed that LSU kept scoring. Les told him sorry man, I did not know you had quit. You should have let me know.

The Raiders benched him the last 5 games last sesson. And the Saints pay him millions. Nice.

“My bad.” If it’s on him give up some salary. Talk is cheap. His nonsensical explanations are getting old really fast.

Jenkins will make zero difference.
re: Womack didn't play and Jefferson was in for only 15 plays

You can’t play Womack , Weeks and Jefferson. They are so inexperienced we might give up about 700 yards if they played.

They based the hire on whether or not there was a buyout and how much. This straight from someone in the Administration. Lindsey fit the bill cause he was the cheapest.

Jim spoke to the Tiger Gridiron Club a number of times. He told great stories and was always generous with his time. One story he told stands out. The Packers were playing the Giants. Early in the game Sam Huff and the Giants stuffed the run game. More than once Huff tackled Jim, fell on him and with his foul breath told Jim “ Taylor, you stink.” Finally the Pack got going and Jim raced into the end zone as Huff trailed behind him. After he scored Jim ran up to Huff and told him “Hey Sam, how do I smell from here??

Addressing the coward who started this thread. Yes. Well, we are there in all those championship events. I know a lot of teams that wish they were. There is no shame in failing. Critics who try to put down those who dare mightily but came up short are real cowards. And you are the worst kind of coward.

Funes hatched the plot after Vadal was no longer a player. He went searching for accomplices from people he knew and found one. All their findings are bullshite. LSU never paid anything for Vadal. It was all a plot by Funes that he hatched when he found a willing partner. Impossible for LSU to have known about it at the time. Just a bunch of crap.

Can we put recruit Memphis and Arkansas State? Fairly unimpressive.

Hey man . Just sharing an interesting story from deep in the past don’t need your sarcasm.

Sadly, no. Hammond broke that barrier down a year or so later.

I was an eye witness to it all. She also hung around the men’s softball tournaments on the weekend. I actually saw her play second base in a softball game against grown men. At the age of 12. That was dangerous. It did not happen often but she did do it.

I agreed then. Not sure now. The problem was she was the best player in the tournament. LOL.
Kim Mulkey story
Posted by Tigerlawyer on 4/4/23 at 2:02 pm
I knew Kim’s dad, Les. I am from Independence. We played against each other in competitive softball. Hammond and Independence were both members of Dixie Youth Baseball. I coached and helped with the Independence league. When Kim was 12 she played shortstop for one of the two Hammond Dixie All star teams. The District tournament was in independence that year. When the Hammond allstars took the field for their first game the District Director , Mr. Berthelot, ran on the field halted the game and took Kim off the field. Girls could not play he said. Rules you know. Well Les had a lawyer ready, my good friend Ron Macsluso from Hammond. Ron was a year or two out of law school but he got an injunction to halt play and then prevailed in the hearing and Kim was allowed to play. I wonder today if Kim remembers any of that.

Here is a tale for you. I knew Kim’s father, Les Mulkey. We played softball on different teams. I am from Independence. We played Dixie Youth baseball in those days. I was a bit older than Kim. Anyway when Kim was 12 she played in the Hammond Dixie Youth league. An all star tournament was held in Independence. Kim was the shortstop for one of two Hammond team. The Dixie Youth District Director from Gonzales, Mr. Berthelot, disqualified her because of sex. He said girls were not eligible. Les hired my friend Ron Macaluso who was one year out of law school. The tournament was halted while a hearing was held. Kim was ultimately allowed to play. I wonder if she remembers any of that.

The problem is if you have watched Little he simply can’t throw strikes. You can’t come in as a reliever and throw 5 or 6 pitches in a row out of the zone and then groove one. He is totally ineffective. And he is their closer? Where are you going if he’s your closer?
