So you guys shitposting here about former players in the NFL is going to give LSU some kind of recruiting edge?

You really must not be paying attention to the headlines and commentary. LSU is getting named dropped DAILY because of the professional talent more so than we have heard in years. Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, OBJ, Landry, Peterson, Mathieu, Edwards-Helaire, etc. have kept LSU in continual discussions that have been pretty impressive. Burrow and Chase playoffs run has even magnified it x10. That is also how the university has marketed the program, past and present players. A brotherhood that doesn't end after graduation or professional declarations.

2019's team was a cultural reset with "The Griddy" going mainstream because of them. You literally can go to any sporting event and several celebratory events to people hitting the dance. I get it though. Hearing fans constantly go on about our former athletes can get annoying, but please do remember this is an expanded area of an LSU fansite. To expect anything less this is being naive.

Show me where I mentioned anything about 2019 in this thread

You don’t think it’s funny how you make a thread about a former LSU player on the rant and then run to the SECr to complain about people talking about former LSU players?

There will be a lot of fan bases pissed off before this game even starts.

Either burrow continues the most ridiculous college to pro run anyone has ever seen or Stafford puts the exclamation point on the end of the Georgia curse. Either way there are going to be plenty of butthurt fans no matter the result.

Is there any other fan base that clings to the success of former players like LSU fans do?

Is there another fan base that witnessed their quarterback put your program and it's sorry arse coach on his shoulders and carry them to 15-0 and the greatest season of all-time? There's your answer. I don't really care about all the other players LSU has sent all over the league, but Burrow is a little different. Other fan bases don't understand that, and that's ok. If your team ever has a player like that come through and do something comparable, it will make sense. Probably shouldn't hold your breath, though.

It’s called pride. Something us Louisiana people and LSU fans have a lot of.

BTW….today alone I heard or saw LSU mentions from Tom Braidy, Dan Patrick, Colin Cowherd, Rich Eisen and ESPN.

Not just.Burrow mentions, but LSU.

It’s weird. They don’t mention OBJ anymore, he used to be all they talked about, but now they’re drooling over Burrow. They’re a very weird bunch.

I think most of them don't have enough brain cells left to remember all the way back to OBJ.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with following your former players in the NFL. Sorry your program didnt produce enough players to follow

OBJ's antics at the national championship soured him for a lot of LSU fans.

It’s odd that UGA fans are comparing Burrow to Stafford. Burrow won NC and Heisman, and is in Super Bowl in year 2 in the age of social media.

Stafford about 10 years late to the party. It would be the same if situations were reversed.

LSU obsession with former players is just downright unhealthy

Joe burrow is a Demi god. He was born atop a mountain during a solar eclipse with Hailey's comet within view in the sky above. A phoenix landed near his mother and burst into flames. From the ashes a baby boy emerged with powers never before seen on the planet earth. A voice from above spoke to his mother and foretold of his greatness to come.

It's not weird they pull for Burrow the way they do imo. It's weird the way they think if Burrow wins in Cincinnati that somehow translates to a win for LSU.

It’s called support. Players aren’t treated like pieces of meat and discarded when they leave here. Once a tiger, always a tiger. LSU opens doors for you.
