Malzahn is 9-3 at worst in 2018. Ed O may be 6-6 if the offense doesn’t work.

LSU won't be able to pay the buyout for Miles, Orgeron, and have the new coach on payroll at the same time.

Therefore, the answer is Malzahn.

People forget, before the Georgia game Gus a dead man walking. He had lost to friggin LSU and Clemson,,,how?? but anyway... Then the Alabama game got him that contract. As fast as his fortunes turned, if he loses to Georgia and Bama this year, they can and will turn back.

O is probably alright for this year, no matter what happens but he could be in trouble next year. I expect LSU to struggle mightily this year and next but u gotta give him time to get his guys in there.

Malzahn won't be getting canned anytime soon after that new deal he just signed. Would be very expensive.

Agreed but I think we’d pay it if we have a 2012-type season. Don’t think we will, but Gus has had some serious duds in his tenure at Auburn.

That's not necessarily true, but the heat will turn up as a function of how poorly the team performed if we were to lose both.

The Arkansas job wasn't a factor.

IMO Gus would have to have two 2012 type seasons to be fired right now.

I hate the fact that we signed Malzahn to a 7 million contract but his floor at this point is probably 8-4 which won’t get him fired for at least three years. Auburn has failed to commit to facility improvements so until the big money dudes do that we will probably continue to be an 8-4 9-3 team with an 10 win season every 3-4 years

Both teams have high expectations as do all big 6 programs and rightfully so(minus UT and UF with first year coaches). So they tend be quicker to fire and less patient because others have proven there can be success at these programs. So of course they higher odds of firing their coach because Saban won't be fired, 2 new in the big 6 already, Smart has at least two more years. Leaves Auburn and LSU.

I think that's exactly what it would take right now. Fortunately, I don't see that happening anytime very soon.

Auburn is more likely to finish 7-5 than they are 10-2

Did you say that last season as well? The prediction means about as much. You, like most, have no idea how anyone is going to be this season. We will know soon enough.

Auburn doesn't win 10 games in back to back seasons. That's probably his reasoning. Ya know, history n stuff.

Not sure how you figure that. Road games at Georgia and Bama where he has never won, so that's two Ls right there. Early game vs Washington who is a preseason top 10 team. Road game at State will be tough. Gets A&M at home but for some reason can'r beat them there. Plus he is prone to inexplicable losses to mediocre or just plain bad teams. Wouldn't be surprised to see them drop to 7-5

Kinda a dumb comparison. There are 7 brand new coaches and Nick Saban in the SEC. That is 8 teams that will obviously have a lower chance of firing the coach than Gus.

Of the returning coaches not named Nick Saban, the only coach less less likely to be fired it Kirby.

Ed Orgeron

Barry Odom

Derek Mason

Matt Luke

Mark Stoops

Gus Malzahn 20:1

Will Muschamp 20:1

Jeremy Pruitt

Joe Moorhead

Chad Morris

Dan Mullen

Kirby Smart

Jimbo Fisher

Nick Saban
