Popeyes seems a lot like KFC. At some point, it had to be decent. But the farther the reach and passage through time, it all got lost. Popeyes is the ghetto and KFC is the white trash trailer park equivalent.

Hot Brown is pretty overrated. Not bad…but It’s only a thing because there is nothing really else unique to the state besides Burgoo.

Does KY also do that nasty-arse chili served over spaghetti, or does that shite stay in Cincy ?

You’re missing out. In actuality, it’s a Macedonian meat sauce.

Spice it correctly and aggressively, and that stuff is stupid-good

Ground cloves, baker’s chocolate, cinnamon, allspice.

Immigrants just called it “chili” in the states to gain traction.

A typical burgoo is a combination of meat and vegetables. Common meats are pork, chicken, beef, and/or mutton, often hickory-smoked, but other meats are seen occasionally. Common vegetables are lima beans, corn, okra, tomatoes, cabbage, and potatoes. Typically, since burgoo is a slow-cooked dish, the starch from the added vegetables results in the stew thickening. A thickening agent, such as cornmeal, ground beans, whole wheat, or potato starch, can be used when cooked in a nontraditional way. In addition, soup bone stocks can be added for taste and thickening.[citation needed]

The ingredients are combined in order of cooking time required, with meat first, vegetables next, and thickening agents as necessary. A spoon can reportedly stand up in a good burgoo. Cider vinegar, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, or chili powder are common condiments. It's typically served with fried cornbread

That sounds like an absolute garbage yankee goulash

Bayou Brothers down in Hardyville is where I get my fix, when I don’t feel like doing it myself. They are legit. Most of the time I’m making it stank right here on the back porch in Boyle. Co.
Anybody bring a little Tasso with them when you come up this way would be nice ??
