Well, he’s gonna get canceled. He hurt a lot of feeling with that one.
Apparently he first said it at least seven years ago so if they're gonna cancel him for this they're taking their sweet time.

Yep. This country was "founded" by some pretty fair, upstanding people. The descendants are even more upstanding human beings.
They definitely paved the way for you to say that, could of saved some time by just writing thanks, but that’s probably not edgy enough for a man your ilk

Fifty years ago... People were complaining about the players just like they do today...
In some ways it was even worse.
Think about it. In that era we had a Heisman trophy winner who won the Heisman trophy after he robbed a gas station at gunpoint.
Holtz had to suspend some players at Arkansas for "dorm violations" because they had raped some chicks.
Dexter Manley couldn't read.
Forty years ago we had OU's "rapin', dopin' and shootin'"...
We had Miami's thug brigade...
We had Texas' standing naked in somebodies back yard not being able to remember his name.
We had the daughter of the Colorado coach servicing the players.

None of that has gone away.

There were student athletes with terrible attitudes back in the day, and there are student athletes now that are incredible people. It has always been, and will always be, this way.
For those that are so anxious to indict this generation, remember, it was raised and molded by the generation of Lou Holtz.

No, it wasn't.

All true. But statistically speaking, it wasn’t as many. There were a few bad apples yes, but it’s 90% of all players today. That’s the issue. There has been violence and dumb asses and always will be, but it’s overrun with them now

Players 50 years ago didn't bring in the money players do now for the universities.

ehh I can't fault players at all. How dare they advocate for themselves and the other players. Would Holtz have the same mindset over the newies strike of 1899? Trust me I get the free education and room and board for the football guys, but those kids also work their arse off. The NCAA was stupid years ago to not set a compensation value and/or create a players union for wages.

100% accurate. Rose colored glasses are always donned when people look at the past, always imagining things were "better" back then.

Holtz can't really talk either. He recruited the most out of control Carolina teams ever. His team that brawled with Clemson was full of kids who were not good people at the time (I hope they have figured it out).

Crazy the HS seniors make more money than people who actually change lives, researchers and leading edge doctors who cure major diseases. Life is so unfair.
It is not crazy .....it reflects the values we have a society. Kim Kardashian gets paid 500K per hour to show up at a private event and she is only there because of her sex tapes lead to a reality tv show.
Livvy Dunne earns $4Million a year not for gymnastics excellence but because she prances around in a bikini on Instagram.
They do it because everyone wants it and intermediaries make huge money facilitating it. It is a reflection of who we are.
Sad and pathetic . . .absolutely . . . .but not crazy.
