It looked like some seats behind the benches were empty on TV. If those folks don't show by second half they should stuff some students in those seats.

I like the Chase Daniel excuse and I intend to use it in the future.

The stands looked empty in that shot because all of our wealthy fans were getting another drink.

It's nice and shiny, but the Arena doesn't hold a candle to the Hearnes in terms of atmosphere.

All the tickets have been sold out for the whole basketball season.

Not exactly what I said. They have a box with seats in it and they also have seats in the lower level. (The high level donors i.e. the ones behind the bench on tv get both with their ticket packages) So they are in the box watching the game and not in the seats. Even Mizzou fans don't get it so I don't really expect other fanbases to understand the layout of the venue.

These people would also have those "empty" seats on tv...

EDIT: Would I rather sit in the seats behind the bench? Of course. Would most of us? Of course. I also don't make the kind of money that gets 20 suite seats so maybe they just would rather stand and socialize and have a cocktail?

Yep. Wouldn't those be the most expensive seats? (And I would assume the ones behind the Tennessee bench are probably spoken for by the Tennessee athletic department)

I mean I'm sure there are some Mizzou fans from St. Louis and Kansas City that don't travel for weekday games and don't give their tickets away but you could even pull up a screenshot of a home game against Kentucky or Kansas that I can promise you were sold out with those empty seats.

Again they have a box seat where they can drink and hang out with other like minded wealthy people. Not that hard to understand.

If I were the loaded guy that could afford those suites I would absolutely be sitting in row 2 enjoying the game. But maybe that isn't the mentality of the loaded guy?

You aren't saying it was "full" or "packed"

Not that hard to understand.

Most of those are corporate deals. They could fill the seats. They’re just disinterested old dudes. Though I did get some prime football box seats from an old dude this year. Half his seats went unused that game.
