when I was a kid (mid 70's to late 80's), the Georgia vs Clemson game was always one of the biggest and most exciting games of the season

I hated seeing that game go & still miss it

YES, I prefer having S Carolina in the SEC to Clemson, but still miss playing them every year

some others are pretty obvious:

Texas A&M vs Texas
Florida vs Auburn
Florida vs Miami
GA Tech vs Auburn
Tennessee vs Auburn

hell, I even miss Mizzou vs Kansas

and Kentucky vs Indiana -- wasn't that a yearly rivalry as well? They used to play all the time & that is a game/matchup that just makes sense...

was not aware that the Rebs played the Vols every year pre 1992

I know that Georgia played Ole Miss every year, y'all were our 2nd permanent rival at 1st

Tennessee and Arkansas used to have a lot of great games when they played annually.

In my ideal world, Tennessee would play all of these teams every year:

Florida
Georgia
Auburn
Alabama
Ole Miss
South Carolina
Georgia Tech
Arkansas
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

And Tech would be back in the SEC. That would be cool. Outside of those 10 annual games, we would play 1 real deal OOC opponent and then only one G5 cupcake

UK and IU have a long rivalry in football and basketball both. I miss the football game. Neednl to add them back and drop one of the cupcakes. IU has been more solid of late too in the B1G. Not a terrible add on to our schedule.

Texas refused to play Arkansas after we left the SWC and Tennessee was our choice to replace Texas. It didn't hurt that we played in 1990 and it was a great game. So many of us were disappointed when we quit playing Tennessee yearly. Our "rivalry" with LSU didn't really take off until after we quit playing, because Arkansas fans were more interested in playing Tennessee before then.

Playing FSU, Miami, LSU, Georgia, Tenn, Auburn every year would be pretty fun. FSU is down now but that's not likely to stay for a long time. Miami might figure it out if someone like Mack Brown comes and locks down South Florida like he has UNC.

Would be no benefit to UGA to play that game. Clemson, Bama, and OSU have shown the committee doesn’t care at all about OoC schedule.

This is, surprisingly, an exciting game. Memphis has hired a couple of great coaches in a row. I think Florida playing UCF every year is probably the only other G5/SEC matchup that sounds appetizing. But I'd rather see Florida/Miami before UCF.

Geez, don't be a pussy. If Ga loses the game and wins out they'd be fine.
