I do wonder what NIL deal he could pull, that’s what’s most interesting to me. That name alone is worth a lotta $

This pretty much sums up your typical teasip fan. Could care less about how good of a player he is or how much of an asset he is to the team. Just worried about how much money he is being paid.

Most Ole Miss fans that I know have accepted we are probably third in this race behind Texas and Georgia.

If Coach Saban wants him that's proof enough for me.

Good. Too much hype for someone who has not played one down of college football. Perfect fit for the Texas over-promise/under-perform football program.

Hard to imagine Manning going to play for Six Win Steve.

If Sark's bacon gets pulled out of the fire, it'll probably be Quinn Ewers getting it out of there.

I wish we could have seen what Cutcliffe could have done at one of the traditional powers.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Until then, my pick is, and always has been, Bama.

Ironic given Aggie just bought and paid for this recent class

It has the same smell as the entire Chrissy Simms situation.
Didn't that guy have a 3-1 record against a&m, with the average margin of victory of over 23 points in each of those wins?

Not to mention back-to-back 11-win seasons, which I'm pretty sure has never even happened in aggie football history. And that guy wasn't even our second best QB of that decade

leave it to an aggie to completely self-own himself just because the school he was rejected from angered him.

I knew that. Thanks. Won't be the only mistake I make on a Monday, I'm sure

Wasn't Cooper scholarshipped to Ole Miss before his injury was known?

Ain't gonna help UT land Arch.

Texas' QB situation hurts them in that if Ewers is as advertised, Arch won't play.

Georgia's QB situation is actually better for Arch as of now. If Vandagriff or Stockton overtake SBIV before the end of next season, then that changes. If they don't, it's a wide open race for QB1 in the spring/summer of 2023.

I feel like we are all in for a big fricking letdown with Arch Manning. And what I mean is he won't be nearly as good as Peyton or Eli.

you mean he wont win one SEC title in 8 years, NO nc's like his two uncles (and add Granddad for 3 more years of winning zippo)...low bar

Interesting

Yes Phil won one Super Bowl with the Giants. And he’s a host on CBS bc he won that one SB with NY. And his boy is an analyst now just bc his dad got him the job. Most Sips I know wish he had never played at Texas. Just kept the major from getting playing time due to politics.

But you are the first I have ever heard talking him up. Pretty much everyone I have ever talked to has no respect for him.

On the other hand, it’s the exact opposite for the Mannings. Of course what they accomplished on the field speaks for itself. And I have never heard any negative feedback on them.

I questioned how good he was on the Alabama forum (from watching him play twice) and was greeted with anger, passive aggressiom and downvotes.

Glad people out here can at least see what we have all seen so far isn't super impressive

Once again I am talking circa 2000. Archie was a legend but from a long time back. Payton had a nice career at Tennessee but hadn't done anything in the NFL yet really. Eli certainly got attention and was a hot prospect but most thought he was the lesser brother.

Simms actually won 2 Super Bowls for New York and he was a very high profile personality, far moreso than Archie Manning btw. He had only retired in '93 and his son was a HS prospect in '99 with his Dad being the rising star in the NFL booth with NBC and then CBS. His son was very getting all kinds of hype and awards.

As time has gone on the Mannings have become royalty after both won SB rings and had HOF careers. Then of course they have become huge personalities. That wasn't the case in 2000 when most people just thought of how Archie was this really good college QB in the '60s that was condemned to play for some terrible Saints teams. Most folks outside of the SEC didn't think much of him and the SEC was not the same as it is now in terms of national presence.
