I wouldn’t say that. But if he is anything less than an All American Heisman finalist then he will be a disappointment to most. And that is not fair to the kid.

I still dont get why he's the #1 overall player in 2023 class.

Because of his last name. Recruiting rankings are nonsense. Ever heard of the Bama bump? These recruiting sources are all over the place it’s giving these kids big heads. Not saying Arch has this but it’s a thing.

Simms was a well respected name before the whorns ruined Chris Simms. What a disaster Manning would be at that liberal cesspool. If he's stupid, that might be his decision.

Question is this - "Is he that stupid?" Stay tuned ...

Texas A&M 11-win seasons since WWII: 2 (and the aggies had a 0-1 record against the longhorns in those two seasons )

Chris Simms 11-win seasons while at the "liberal cesspool": 2

Damn, ColoradoReject. So even when a qb makes a "stupid, disastrous decision" to attend the "liberal cesspool", it's still better than anything your school has accomplished over the last 80+ years COMBINED

Jealousy is not a great look on you, just fyi

He was diagnosed with spinal stenosis in the summer before his freshman year in Oxford.

I don't think Arch is a bad prospect or bust waiting to happen but I think he may still be one of the most overrated prospects in memory. I have yet to see any film on him that impresses me and I've seen a lot where he looks mediocre or worse.

If his name was John Davis he would be a 4 Star. Maybe. Simply having a family of NFL greats doesn't make you an NFL great.

100% agree.

Good player with good measurables, middle 4* type guy.

#1 overall player is a fricking joke and is just to sell subscriptions or something.

I thought Cutt had like 65 grandkids in Oxford?

Why not take an off-field analyst role in Oxford unless Freshwater just doesn't want him around.

I never thought Arch was "bad" at all, I just never thought he was super special or elite. Most of the games I saw on television he lost, made bad decisions, threw INT's.

Now, the genes are there in the Manning blood for sure, and he could be "coached up" by the likes of Cutliffe for sure as his QB Coach.

The bigger question is how patient is Tejas willing to be to see it all come to fruition. Especially with the hype the past two years. Especially-Especially with the name. extra especially with the NIL money that kid is going to see.

I feel like we are all in for a big fricking letdown with Arch Manning. And what I mean is he won't be nearly as good as Peyton or Eli.

As someone who was in high school in Nola the same time as Eli and grew up watching Peyton @ Newman, I can tell you with 100% certainty that Arch isn't in the same stratosphere as his uncles. I've watched a lot of Newman football the past 2 years because my nephew is a junior there this year. He would be best suited to go to Texas because that cat isn't anywhere near SEC ready. Peyton and Eli could've started in college as juniors in high school.

HS Stats

Peyton - 7,207 yards - 92 tds
Eli - 7,389 yards - 89 tds

To beat them both he needs 1,658 passing yards and 20 tds this season.

Either way, he's set for life.

So I don't feel too bad for him.

I love the idea of this kid at Texas. He certainly won't do squat on the football field but his NIL will be sizable. Supposedly Ewers is guaranteed somewhere North of $4M and he was the fourth string QB at tOSU

If he goes to tu and Ewers will be the QB you claim he is then Manning will be transferring in two years.

Anyone who thinks he is not 5* QB is clueless.

I'm gonna take EVERY recruiting sites (and all of them have him a 5*) opinions over anyone poster on here or any other board.

Then, you take the fact that EVERY CFB program including Bammer, UGA, CLEMSON, LSU have offered him a scholly.

Yeah, he's the real deal, just read 247 scouting report on him and is all you need to know.

I think there are just allot haters of the Manning name in here, lol.

Kid is 6'4, got legs (remember Cooper was a WR that had a full ride to ole miss before injuries wrecked his career), quick release, elite mental acumen, strong ARM on deep balls with velocity.

I hope he goes to UGA, but it very well could be Texas.

Gabe BrooksMIDLANDS REGION RECRUITING ANALYST

PROJECTION

First Round

Good height and overall frame potential. Relatively lean, athletic build and carries existing weight well. One-of-a-kind quarterback pedigree. Natural pocket passer with pro-style feel, but good functional athlete with terrific off-schedule instincts and playmaking ability. Junior season has shown improved running ability in designed situations and continued dangerous scrambling effectiveness. Looks first to throw when on the move, but capable of gaining chunk yards and converting money downs with his legs. Has repeatedly shown ability to throw accurately outside of the pocket, including when throwing across his body. Calm field demeanor yet poised and competitive simultaneously. Quick, natural release. Accuracy among his best traits. Processes quickly and picks apart defenses in the short-to-intermediate game. Displays requisite vertical arm strength and in-the-bucket touch on deep shots. Impressively pairs velocity and touch to fit throws into zone windows. Elite pocket awareness. Sixth-sense ability to feel pressure and avoid rushers. Good size but still filling out frame, which will continue to raise the ceiling on arm capacity. Does not face elite high school competition, but feel for the game and pedigree will translate regardless. One of the nation's top prospects regardless of position. Likely multi-year high-major starter with first-round NFL Draft ceiling.
