The SEC rushed to publish their new rule, but forgot to clearly define the parties affected, and now the NCAA is drawing their lines somewhere else.

Link to the actual rule or a logical explanation of how their argument is a “change”? How many teams would have to change their roster based on having teams that attend mini-camp?

The argument on here the last few days has been “but they didn’t sign a contract”.
The line, apparently, as it should be, is being involved with any aspect of the NFL.

So many of them were trying to make a distinction between guys who participated with NFL teams in minicamp and guys who participated with NFL teams in training camp.

This is true, and makes everyone with an mini camp roster player or 2022 player, guilty of violating SEC Bylaw 14.01.01 by way of the NCAA rules, which is what the SEC is alleging Lane did by allegedly recruiting pro players.
Crickets on that though.

Just give all the kids from 2022 five years… regardless of pro status. It is the only way to avoid a string of lawsuits. After this year make the rule that any NFL participation disqualifies further college eligibility.

The *rules* are whatever the hell the next lawyer says they are in court. Everyone is just supposed to nod and accept it as if thats been the rule all along.
