deep ball still need a decent amount of work to, but hes really improved his 15-25 yard throws.

I’m not understanding why Mertz is ranked so much higher than someone like Beck in your list.
Mertz has played 2 really good defenses.

KJ Jefferson too high on both lists

What stupid fricking dick face didn't rank Milroe last?

It’s unclear if that is true at all. Even if I give you UTAH. It’s unclear if UT has a “really good defense” or even better than South Carolina. Austin Peay and UF has similar yardage against them. None of this is meant to knock Mertz.

Did you watch the game? Mertz threw 4 passes in the 2nd half as Florida ran the clock out.
He was 17-20 for 160 yards and 2 TDs in the first half. Made great plays, was almost perfect.

Yes. It doesn’t sound like the defense he faced was very good. They didn’t look very good. They weren’t good last year.
Beck had similar numbers vs SC as Drake Maye.
Anyway, they are your ratings. I think I understand your logic at this point. More info to come on all of them.

Leary been getting killed by his sophomore receivers. Learys been hitting em in the hands. Maybe he should aim for the face mask hole.

How can national #2 QBr be the #3 QB in SEC? List is shite!
Posted on 9/18/23 at 4:08 pm to joshnorris14
It was insane to have Mertz last to begin with. The guy was a highly rated recruit out of High School. He played 2.5 seasons of snaps in the Big 10. The offensive designs of those Wisconsin teams were extremely outdated and made things way harder on him. He’s in a way more friendly system now.

Rogers removed from the Air Raid has been BAAAAAD. Like the majority of our fans are begging for the Vandy transfer bad.

That list just let's us know the real reason why the SEC has not gotten off to a good start in OOC games this season

Play someone then back to us.

This is incredibly surprising given the long and storied history of Mike Leach QBs who have achieved high levels of constent success playing QB after leaving Leach's air raid system.

Weigman has a pretty bad OL as well. Put him behind a good OL and he gets even better.

Well thanks. I knew the rankings were far off when it came to Weigman. But considering the complete no show as a team last year, I get it. Weigman looks like a veteran out there and completely comfortable. Tossing dimes even when hurried.
Weigman is certainly a Top 3 SEC QB. And right now, he is a Top 3 national QB. In fact, he has the 2nd highest QBR in the nation and is clealy the #1 QB in the SEC right now.
I don't think that will change. Dude is a stud and future 1st rounder. We finally have the "it factor" QB again.
What I do NOT understand one bit is....Daniels at LSU. When that guy is hurried he is statistically TERRIBLE.
And worse is Rattler. Guy is still being rated as a 5-start out of HIGH SCHOOL. When in reality he has been a very, very, very average QB in college. Yet, everyone in the media considers him some magical QB. Makes no sense whatsoever.

These are the grades from PFF so far on the season for the SEC:
1. Weigman - 92.1
2. Dart - 91.7
3. Jefferson - 90.4
4. Daniels - 88.1
5. Beck - 84.9
6. Rattler - 82.4
7. Leary - 80.4
8. Milton - 79.7
9. Milroe - 77.3
10. Swann - 76.2
11. Cook - 75.4
12. Thorne - 72.6
13. Mertz - 68.8
14. Rogers - 62.7
Probably most surprising on that list is PFF doesnt see a bad starting QB in the SEC. Rogers at 62.7 is slightly above average. Mertz people would think might be way lower than expected at 13th and below Thorne, Cook, Swann, Milroe so far. I was a bit surprised to see Jefferson so high because it seems like he's had a pretty disappointing start to the season. He made some critical errors in the end of that BYU game for instance.
But this is all through 3 wildly different games for most of these teams so this list will probably change a lot just 3 more games into the season and more SEC teams play each other things will normalize. 3 game sample sizes (2 for Milroe) simply is way too little to start out.
BTW if Buchner qualified for min number of snaps he would be dead last here at 57.4 overall. Simpson would be just above Milroe actually but he really didnt get to show much in passing the ball at all.

AJ Swann has a great receiver in Shepherd.
