I am surprised that Lyle accepted the position with the title of "intern". thats a slap in the face regardless of what he does off field. Saban if he respected him at all would at least have called him an "analyst" or something to give the man a little dignity.

Butch is a total beta and desperate if he accepted this shite. Shows him as weak.

That is a little harsh. It worked for Kiffin and Sarkisian.

I may have something to do with the way his payout at Tennessee is structured. If he took a paying job they may be able to pay him less or not at all. Just a guess.

Maybe.

I honestly think that the problem there was personality more than anything.

To use a cliché, a leopard can't change its spots. He may prove me wrong, but I doubt even Saban's Home for Wayward Coaches can rehab this one.

He’s just pissed they made him pay full bookstore price for that Bama polo.

IMO this was a favor from Saban to Sexton to get something to add to Bozo Botch's resume...Botch isn't marketable right now and they are hoping this will help. Before this gig Botch was going to a free asst, coach for Knoxville Catholic where his son will be a senior this coming Fall. His family is staying in Knoxville.

Seems we had lots to say about CLK when he was at Ut and while at Usc-w. But after he came here, the jokes and poking subsided. And the more he was successful the less the fans rode his arse. I would hope we tone down this crap about Lyle too, now that he is in the rehab program. Let's help him help us. As in all things, In Saban We Trust. If the Great Saban thinks this will be a good thing, who am I? Hail to the analyst, grad assist, intern, whatever in the hell they will call his position. I call it another set of eyes to help Bama win... if even one play in one game, well, hell yeah. And at the end of this program, Butch will be the better for it... may get a real job at a real school.

Lane Kiffin is a much MUCH better football coach than Lyle. And an elite recruiter.

I think Tennessee's failures with him as coach are more a Tennessee problem than a Butch Jones problem. Jeremy Pruitt's reputation will be the only victim here, but those wounds will heal fast

Then you're a fricking idiot. The guy had a plethora of 4/5* Legacy recruits fall in his fricking lap, and Josh Dobbs, and Alvin Kamara, and still somehow managed to not win the weakest East division in history, not once, but twice.

Also managed to preside over the worst, LITERALLY THE WORST, team in history of Tennessee football. Got shutout for the first time since the early 90s, got shutout at home for the first time since 1981, first Tennessee team ever to lose 8 games in a season,

THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON.

Don't ever share your fricking opinion again

I’m going to go ahead and say you’re very happy that Lyle is gone.

Now time will tell with Pruitt, but I’m sure you’ll give him a fair opportunity to see what he can do. Worst case he sucks and Phat Phil puts himself in as head coach (i.e like Barry Alvarez did a few years back).

Butch Jones won more every other stop, just like the list of all the coaches since fat phil, then went to shite. Played more talented teams, but as you said he had talent too. All these coaches don't forget how to coach once they get to Knoxville do they? So tell me, what the frick else is the problem? The only common factors here are these guys won until they got to Tennesee right? How else were they qualified to even get the job? All those coaches passed this time, why? Take off the fricking burnt orange glasses and look at the circumstances here. Everybody loses at Tennessee, Kiffin split, and your first 5÷ choices for the open job passed. But you're right, its all a Butch Jones problem not a Tennessee problem. You are fricking idiot hillbilly retards if you can't see the writing on the wall. Good luck to Pruitt, I would love nothing more than UT to become a major road block for UGA, but he's screwed
