Can you imagine him trying to tell any player on that team anything? I don't know if he's even allowed to talk to them per NCAA rules, but if he is, why tf would they listen to a word he says?

Let's face it. Guy may have lots of potential, but has never really been associated with Big Time Programs or HC's. A few years under Saban, and he will understand how to put together a quality staff (coaches and off-field) and how to evaluate/recruit what the team needs.
If he can understand the process and maybe even move into an on the field position at Bama, his value would really move up. I think he was pushed into the 10rc spot before he was ready and before he really understood the pressures of SEC and having to play Bama every year. I look at this as a rehab stay (not as doomed as the Lane Rehab) but a potential to help all parties involved.
Since he will not be able to coach he should have plenty of time to analyze what is going on in practice and games. Unless he turns out to be less than intelligent in the Football X's and O'x, nice to have another set of eyes with lots of experience.

Whats really gonna suck is when Bama boat-races UT this year and they have to hear about this fiasco from Gary Danielson for 3 hours while the score hits the 50-0 ish range.
