While they are at it can they ban men from waiving Pom poms?

I don't like any of the lame bands playing the same song right up until the snap. Shouldn't be allowed.

If State wants to break the rules I don’t blame them. I’d do the same thing. The only answer is to let Neyland and Tiger Stadium do the same shite. I have a feeling they’d get banned pretty quickly
You already do it with amplified noise.

It's possible that that tub of goo Heupel gets so triggered by a Pavlovian response from all of the bells and that's why they are wanting them banned.

One could never guess that Louisiana was colonized by the French.

What the vuvuzela is to South Africa,
cowbells are to MSU. It’s a shame really.

UT was busted for pipping in artificial noise.

Sooner fans are new to this so tell me, are there different kinds of cowbells or is this a thing where only university-approved cowbells are allowed in the stadium?

Opposing fan bases only complain about the bells when we start winning a little bit, so I’ll take it as a compliment. I don’t recall much cowbell related pissing and moaning in the Sly Croom, Joe Moorhead, and Zach Arnett eras.
(I actually don’t like to bring a bell to games myself, I find it to be an inconvenience, but don’t mind others doing it).
I presume a cowbell ban would have to be voted on by league AD’s in the offseason (that’s how the Cowbell Compromise went at least).

I don’t think it’s an NCAA matter. Pretty sure it’s down to the SEC to enforce

The rules aren’t that strict, but 99% of people bring the same kind of bell with the handle and gripper on it. The general type that’s been around for 50 years and is sold all over town.

Don't blame them. These cowbells need to DIAF.

Correct. It’s also why the “ring responsibly” stuff only applies to conference games. They didn’t even try to stop anyone from doing it in the Arizona State game, but this week there has been a lot of messages from State about it. Will probably be plastered all over the video boards on Saturday too.

Little sister State gets a pass.
How about stealing from a children's hospital or murdering people?

If that was true Bama would have had Birmingham on our asses faster than a Tranny trying to get to a children’s library

They gonna do something about the Vols piping in noise?
Posted on 9/25/25 at 2:10 pm to GreatPumpkin
Well neither of them have found us in violation for over a decade.

ASU is not in the SEC. There are no NCAA rules on cowbells. There are rules for SEC games.
quote:
NCAA Playing Rules Summary: Artificial Crowd Noise
(Updated: July 19, 2021) Artificial crowd noise, by conference policy or mutual consent of the institutions, is allowed. The noise level must be consistent throughout the game for both teams. However, all current rules remain in effect dealing with bands, music and other sounds. When the snap is imminent, the band/music must stop playing. As with all administrative rules, the referee may stop the game and direct game management to adjust.
Does that really sound like they NCAA has no rules regarding the use of cowbells (i.e. artificial crowd noise)?
