....

How about 10?
Middle Tenn State - 2009
Bowling Green - 2013
Rice - 2013

And 9?
#20 Ole Miss - 2009
Southern Miss - 2015
La Tech - 2015

So the #2 coach in the SEC and a top 5 coach in all of college football has ONE quality wins in almost 9 full seasons. And people wonder why Florida, Tenn, and others have zero interest in him.

He's a better hire than Jon Gruden. Even if Gruden actually wanted the job.

Dan Mullen’s best win is against the 2017 LSU fighting tigers.

The only two teams he’s beaten who were ranked at season’s end would be your 2009 Ole Miss Rebals led by Houston Nutt, and your 2014 Auburn Tigers.

Hard. Pass.

Still got that Mullen mushroom stamp on your forehead?

Put a cold compress on it and the bruising should go away

All that failure and Mississippi State still has a better football team than A&M.

Weren't the aggies CFP #4 when State whupped em last year?

Though I do admit, it's hard to remember which State - Aggie beating is which.

Love having ya'll in the conference as an easy win

Seems like he also doesn’t get looked at as much because of his role in the whole Ole Miss deal. Coaches protect each other off the field and Mullen allowed his players to go after another school. Something tells me that doesn’t sit right with the athletic community.

You're 3-3 with your GOAT coach. We're 3-3 with a fired coach. That is the difference between our programs. You want to build him a statue for winning 7 to 8 wins a year. We fired Sumlin for only winning 8 to 9.

11+
#4 South Carolina

10
#16 Virginia Tech
#23 Northwestern
#24 Georgia
#25 Cincy
Utah State
Bowling Green
App State

9
Florida
Nebraska
Ohio

Most are those are Butch's wins, but overall those 3 combined won at a higher level than Mullen. However, they also lost to a lot of mediocre and bad teams. At least Mullen has that going for him.

Let's focus on that 9. If Mullen wins the Egg Bowl or his bowl game, he will have 9 or more wins in 3 of the last 4 years. This is while being in a division with Bama, Auburn, and LSU. Sumlin has zero 9 win seasons over that stretch.

Zero, none, goose egg, nada, zilch

actually Sumlin has been averaging 7-8 wins since Johnny(where you got 2 of those 3 wins) left. State has been having the 8-10 wins. But it's all semantics. You're the biggest stadium, richest alumni, best recruiting, blah, blah, blah, and little poor mississippi state physically whooped that arse. That's the difference. I'm pretty sure deep down Aggie knows they will somehow Aggie(frick up) this next hire too.

Just want to point out how few SEC West teams win 11+ games. You're basically counting how many wins he has against national champs.

How many teams has Mississippi State beaten in the last 40 years that have had 11+ wins outside of the Mullen era?

I couldn't find any...

Wins over 10-win teams have included:

2000 - Beat 10 win Florida team
1996 - Beat 10 win Alabama team
1980 - Beat 10 win Alabama team
