Trash talking aside, I look at Sumlin and Mullen and compare output vs input. How many 3,4,and 5*s does Sumlin get to the NFL and how many does Mullen?
From this far away, it always seems that aTm is working with a loaded roster, yet they underachieve. I could be wrong

Is A&M more loaded than MSU? Sure. But Sumlin did not recruit at the levels of Bama, LSU or UGA. Isn't the head coach in charge of recruiting? It ultimately falls on him. But doing more with less only gets you so far. I think that is obvious when you see how poorly MSU has done versus very good teams and not just your 6 to 8 win P5 teams.
