Florida has an absolutely top-tier athletic department, but are not considered bluebloods in any sport.

Director's Cup
Funny we never heard about that here until UTranny came.

Yet you would swap our history in the big three during your lifetime in a heartbeat.
Let me help you out with something. When I think of Blue Blood, I think of a couple of things. Teams that could cheat without receiving major penalties bc of their politics or money. Or teams that won a long time ago when it was much easier to win bc there was much less competition.
It’s not a coincidence that Texas has not done all that much the past 50 years in football when the rules were leveled out.

They're so fricking embarrassing
They act like they ran the Big12 for all those years, when it was actually OU that ran the conference.
Luckily they were able to win the Big12 in their last year to break their tiebreaker with...Baylor and K-State

I'd switch recent histories with a Florida fan, but you are an Aggie parading around as a Florida fan, so no, I would not switch histories with you.

A longhorn deflecting as soon as they get put in the corner. Go figure.
Now you run along and go listen to your dad tell you about the 60s again.

Yep. I've got nothing to say until we find a way to beat Georgia. Looking forward to the game on Saturday.

How did I deflect? I am giving Florida their flowers while calling you out as an Aggie.
This shite is straight out of the Fish Camp Handbook:
Gonna mention how the series is "almost even" in the last 50 years or so?

I’m 50 years old and you have won one title in my life time. Good thing I’m not 70, then we might be level. But I’m not that old.

I don't think you understand what a blueblood is. It's not just about recent success (although I consider LSU to be THE bluest blood in college baseball. Others will disagree I'm sure)
Sustained success across many eras
All-time wins / winning percentage near the top
Legendary coaches and players
Major cultural pull — national fanbase, TV relevance, brand power
Respect even when they’re down
A standard where “good” seasons can still feel disappointing
The key part is historical permanence. A blue blood is not just “currently elite.” It’s a program whose name itself carries weight.
For example, in college football, schools usually brought up are Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska. Some argue about programs like Georgia, LSU, Penn State, Miami, Florida, etc., but those are more “elite programs” or “new-money powers” depending on the argument.
In college basketball, blue blood usually means Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, UCLA, and sometimes Indiana.
So the clean definition:
A blue blood is a historically prestigious program whose success spans generations and whose brand remains powerful even when the team isn’t currently winning titles.
Every source I check basically says the same thing. You don't have to like it, but we don't make the rules.
