Negative, the touchdown reversal is why they were upset. It was an idiotic ruling the ref couldn’t even explain

They do a great job. UT fans are mad about being a half yard short (clear in the replay) but saying nothing of why they had a 4th and 24. If you are complaining about the refs, chances are your arse was kicked.

This is laughable from an. Auburn fan. Team that, for some reason, benefits more than any other…

The Auburn fumble in the rezone early yesterday likely cost us 7 points. The late game phantom PI on an uncatchable ball kept Auburn alive and gave them 7 points.

Thats a 14 point swing. frick the refs

I'm an AU alum I admit that was a fumble. I think they explained it away as stopping forward progress. First down Arky IMO. I don't recall the PI you are talking about. Regardless, SEC officials are horrible. We benefitted from a call that NFL refs wouldn't have made. We've also been screwed multiple times the same way. Just get the calls right.

The fumble last year and this year..... terrible officiating. There was also a PI on an uncatchable ball and the DB barely touched him if at all. The fumbles though were the most egregious, especially one they still got wrong after replay.

I know every team has experienced these travesties though and completely agree that it's time the SEC do something about it. Even Tebow tweeted about the crappy officiating. It's ruining the game and has to be improved.

You are correct on both calls. The pass on the PI call was closer to the chain-link fence surrounding the field than it was to the sideline...hell, it could have been called grounding!

The officiating in the Oregon loss to Stanford would have caused a literal riot in an SEC stadium.

Yep. The Duck Man got screwed in that one.

He had forward progress just like the play below where they called forward progress.

I agree this should not have been called PI. If it would have been catchable, then yeah it's PI. But this only resulted in a FG, and Auburn was in FG range before this call.

This year has been the worst I’ve seen since the addition of instant replay. Some of the stuff has to do with the complexity of what’s reviewable and what’s not. Also the grey area of “conclusive evidence.”

Overturning a call should have no gray to it…it should be obvious to everyone.

But it is getting worse and worse. Case in point: Slade Bolden caught a ball last night. It was called complete on the field. The officials got buzzed. Game play stopped for 5 minutes. The replay showed absolutely nothing to overturn it, let alone “indisputable video evidence.” Zebras overturned it anyway.

No penalties on Florida
Called back a LSU td on a penalty and another big play on a very questionable penalty
With a one loss ole miss and lame duck coach o LSU will have to beat the refs in Oxford

This argument is laughable.

The people on the field claim they can do the job to a certain standard. More importantly, the conferences claim they can do the job to a certain standard. SEC officiating has been garbage for many years. Basically every week at least one SEC team gets screwed by officials.

IMO, ACC officials are the best in the business. They miss calls too, but just aren't as egregious as our bunch.

ETA You should have been around in the 60's and 70's. Games were flat out rigged back in those days.

NO...what needs to be done is establishing a referee 'pool' either nationally or regionally and send ref-crews to the opposite side of the country to 'ply their trade'....NOT, hiring all the 'good refs' from the Birmingham area ! HOW this has not yet been done, has to lead one to believe thare ARE certain 'biases' that each conference want to 'maintain'......WHY ??? Like in just about ALL things, FOLLOW THE MONEY !!! There is simply no other reason !!

Officiating is getting worse for one reason - they are not accountable.

They don't get criticized for awful calls. They don't get fired. They're basically Federal Judges on a football field.

Hell - a coach gets fined for criticizing them. The Middle Ages would like that. You didn't criticize your local Duke or Baron either. At least, not for long.

What are SEC officials paid? I understood it was up to $3,000.00 per game

There is soooooo much $ in major college football, there is absolutely NO reason there should not be a 'national pool' of referees....unless, of course there is some 'unknown' conerence 'bias' against that RATIONAL/OBVIOUS alternative ! SOMEONE wants to RETAIN 'control', for some 'unknown' reason !
