Yep. I guess the OP just felt like trolling KY fans this morning.

and is recruiting better than UK ever has.

This is the part that's so messed up from a Mizzou perspective. Entering the SEC and the East was always gonna be a challenge, but lets face it even the most ardent Big Blue backer would probably concede that the two programs in the East that Mizzou would at least have initially hoped to always compete with (I'm not saying consistently beat, mind you, but at least always feel good about competing with) were Vandy and Kentucky.

So voila, just as Mizzou enters the league, both Vandy *and* Kentucky have started recruiting at a level that they pretty much have *never* recruited at, true high level national recruiting hauls with 4 star blue chip kids out the wazoo. Along with the "down" program amongst the East's blue bloods, Tennessee, also spiking up its recruting to national top ten levels. And the other three SEC East teams doing what they do on the recruiting trail.

Granted, Mizzou is showing this year and showed in the Big 12 during many years that recruiting rankings are not everything and Pinkel's program does a great job of coaching up less heralded recruits who are good athletes. But its still really really bad luck for Mizzou to enter the East at this point in time. I would submit that NEVER in the hundred or whatever year history it is of the SEC that UK and Vandy have been in the league together have both those programs been simultaneously recruiting at this high a level. It's freaking insane.

Is this supposed to be a serious thread?

I still think Mizzou will have a better football program. Stars on recruits are really not the only thing that matters. The main thing is coaching. And that is one edge that we have top to bottom from them not just including Pinkel.

When were you ever competitive in the East?

We were competitive during the Brooks years, the latter ones anyway. It showed that with the right coaching and talent, UK can compete.

And he's recruiting the hell out of Ohio. Smart man.

Vandy is ahead of UK right now because they have had a good HC for 3 years now, and Franklin has made Vandy competitive.

Honestly, Missouri has surprised me this year, they are a very good football team. But I do agree, teams that have been down for a while in the SEC East have had changes that will make them competitive in future years.

Well, Kentucky is 6-8 against LSU in last 14 games, and one of the LSU "wins" was the famous last gasp blue grass miracle hail mary pass in 2002. In 2007, Kentucky wiped out LSU beating the tar out of them during LSU's two-loss NC season.

So basically Kentucky is equal to LSU... that according to corndog logic applied elsewhere in the world of college football.

And since the corndogs believe (this last is akin faith, not fact) that Corndog-U is equivalent to Alabama, then Kentucky must be equal to Alabama.

Hence the need to talk about Kentucky football. LSU is lucky in scheduling that they did not have to play Kentucky this year. Instead they got a scheduling walkover against Georgia, Florida, and Ole Miss. Something should be done to prevent LSU from fixing the schedules so they do not have to play Kentucky.

Yes he is, and I've been waiting for a UK coach to wade north and grab some talent. It's a lot of fun around here right now with what Stoops is doing, and basketball of course.

Remind me again, what conference has Missouri won since our last SEC title?

They haven't won one since they were co-champions of the Big Eight in 1969.
