Have you been in downtown Austin in the last 6 or 8 years?

Know how I know you didn't attend the game in '22? Not only is that a bad angle, it's an old pic from years ago pre-south end zone construction.

Oklahoma is much nicer and the fans are not a crowd of Richard Heads like the Texas bunch.

We'll revisit this in a few years when the losses to the gooners start piling up.

Not sure the last time people visited DKR but it’s a very nice stadium. They did a good job with the south endzone and CDC has really done a good job with upgrading the gameday and tailgating experience.

Saying it’s a shitty stadium is just a bias answer and untrue.

"Segregation now! Segregation tomorrow! Segregation forever!"
The state of Alabama is known for racism which continues today.
Your statement is what is sad considering the roles Alabama, Mississippi, Tenn, North Carolina, Florida and especially Georgia played in removing the American Indians.
Ever studied or read up on the Indian Removal Act of 1830?
If any state in this country has a right for insecurity it is Oklahoma. They have been crapped on since they were a territory.
Chief Allen Wright ( originally from Mississippi and survived the Trail Of Tears) suggested the name while the American government, under Tennessee lead President Jackson was raping the land.
Ignorance!

“The name “Oklahoma” is derived from the Choctaw language, with the words “okla” meaning “people” and “humma” meaning “red”. Therefore, the name Oklahoma can be literally translated to “red people”. This refers to the Native American tribes that inhabited the region, particularly the Choctaw Nation, who were known for their red-colored clothing and headdresses.”

When the Dancing Rabbit Treaty was signed in 1931 the Chief of the Choctaws in the Eastern District of the tribe whose name was Oklahoma chose to remain in Mississippi and lived the remainder of his life just North of Meridian near Koosa Town which was one of the main Choctaw Villages for many centuries prior to the removal.

So Oklahoma was actually named after a Mississippian who never actually resided in Oklahoma.

He's using 20 year old photos. It's never been the best looking stadium around. But it's much better these days

Does Texas still have the vagina shaped end zone they run out of?

A whole football team can fit in it. Modeled after your mom's.

The OU campus is beautiful, feels like a small private school.

Library

Residence hall dining room

Student Union

Student Union 24 hour lounge

Stadium

Campus tour

The town isn't the greatest, but has everything a student needs and is very, very safe. Between Norman and nearby OKC...I had no complaints other than the airport has no international routes.

Yes I know….move to history board….
Greenwood LeFlore (one of the Chiefs) was a sell out/sympathizer to the US government. He stayed in Mississippi taking the easy road but was betrayed by the Federal government. He was removed as Chief by the nation.
Choctaw Nation Chief Allen Wright suggested the name in 1866 during treaty negotiations with the federal US government on the use of Indian Territory.
Wright was born in Mississippi in 1826. He moved with his family in 1833–34 to present McCurtain County, Oklahoma. He died and is buried in Boggy Depot “Indian Territory” Oklahoma.

Not so fun fact, that blocky awful thing and the Cherokee Gothic building above are actually both the same building. They added onto the original library with that monstrosity in the 1960s. So weirdly our library is our best looking building and one of our worst looking buildings at the same time.

Actually, that part of the building was built in 1984. People weren't complaining because the design for the one they WERE going to build was even worse. So many people complained about it that they did a redesign and came up with what is pictured.

The "Cherokee Gothic" element of the newer stuff on campus is much better than that attempt... but that attempt was way better than the 1950s and 1960s buildings on campus.

As was stated earlier..."Cherokee Gothic" was a phrase coined by Frank Lloyd Wright and was said in jest. It is also important to note that the OU library is named after William Bennett Bizzell who left A&M to come to Oklahoma to be president of the University. Bizzell is also maintains a presence on the A&M campus.
