They missed the field goal and then ran the clock out the last 2 possessions. If we score there, and when we had the ball on the bama 27, we have a chance Daniels getting hurt ended the game. Turner did what they wanted… take Daniels out.

You realize Bama was running the ball at will at that point, LSU was down to 1 timeout and the clock doesn’t stop anymore going out of bounds until under two minutes?

I’m not sure LSU would’ve even gotten two more possessions had Bama not gone conservative, not to mention your offense even with Daniels had completely stalled after the first drive of the second half.

The very best you realistically could’ve hoped for is to trade scoring drives or maybe a fumble because your defense was completely gassed by that point.

I truly hate that he went down because he’s fun to watch, but Daniels getting hurt didn’t impact the game at all, it just amplified the loss because he’s such an impactful player.

Taking the opposing quarterback out with a personal foul is a completely lopsided risk reward.

It’s a bullshite play no matter the score.

maybe he should call and say LSU doesn’t want to play Alabama anymore. Those cheating bastards. In fact, Bama should be booted from the conference!

No I never said that. You are projecting. I never said anything about kicking Alabama or anyone else out the SEC. I would ask for clarification as to why it was not targeting from the league office. nothing has to be said publicly about it. Keep it between the LSU AD and the league office.

Pretty typical holding call. The QB would have been sacked if not for the hold. That's when you typically see that flag thrown.

You could be correct, I don't know, if it was called on 66 it was tacky, maybe it was another OL that was the holding party.

So you're advocating that plays from the 70s were right but a play that would have been completely legal in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and early 2000s should be illegal? The stupidity on this site reaches new levels every Bama/lsu game.

No that is not what I said. In the older days it would have been handled that way. If your QB is targeted, you go after the opposing teams QB the same way. Not with a target to the head but a late hit roughing the passer. Spurrier said it just that way back in the 90' when they played FSU, they hit our QB late we hit theirs late.

It was already called roughing the passer and Daniels was knocked out with a concussion

...and it was intentional, and well worth the penalty...drive the qb into the ground, hurt'm if you can...improves your chances to win...every time.

“ Just don’t bitch when Freeze takes out your boy. Auburn alums will pay any fine and bonus the frick out of him”

Freeze is known for taking folks out alright, but only if they’re hookers.

Nowhere does it say a "player can’t make contact with his helmet to the head or neck area of an opposing player". If that was true, 10 players would be ejected every play.

And you call me a dumb frick?

Learn the game and melt less.

No LSU does not win. The game flipped when JD hit Taylor right around the sticks on that 2nd and 12, which was after a snap infraction by our center (he had 3). On the next play, JD broke a 30 yard scramble, a flag came out (the only holding call on a a scramble all night), LSU punted and Bama scored to make it 35-28, tip pass INT and Bama gets it to 42-28 that is ball game.

A little backwards on that. The play after the holding call on Blackwell which wiped out the thirty yard run (and was definitely holding like 20 or so other plays that night), was the 2nd and 17 where Taylor dropped the perfectly thrown football. Without question one of the two biggest plays of the evening (the other being the tipped ball that resulted in the pick). Once Bama went up two scores it was absolutely over. The targeting call which should have been made, while frustrating, was not in any way why LSU lost the game.

I do not think so, I think the defense just could not stop the gump offense. Losing JD just made the score look worse.
