Agree with first part, but youre not coming into this conference with any power. How do you plan to end it?

Bama is crowing about the huge number of penalties that got called on them as overcoming "adversity", lmao. They never see that many flags in conference play... and you're right, the refs still missed several huge calls.

As long as Saban is there, you can expect to lose close games due to the Birmingham BS. Have to take it out of the refs hands and win it going away, which is easier said than done.

Gotta love the mindset where you’ve struggled for over a decade in a shite conference that doesn’t win championships and lose to a championship team in a competitive conference therefore you are going to do well in the competitive conference

That's irrelevant. People can diss on Sarkisian all they want to, but apparently he has successfully dealth with the alcohol issues, and he is absolutely one of if not the very best play callers in college football. He's also a very good qb coach and recruiting is also going well.

Unfortunately I think he's turning that program around.

more often than not, it works for them.

Well, yeah. They don't get called for PI most of the time when they are interfering. Not their fault the refs turn a blind eye to blatant penalties.

I don't blame Bama for coaching their players that way. It's on the league to govern. They won't because it's Saban.

Absolutely. Says a lot for Alabama that they overcame the refs overlooking quite a few calls for Texas.

Alabama played a terrible game and still won. Sip will probably fall apart for the remainder of the season. About the only take away from that game

TSips will finish with a better record than Aggies

Being a big fish in a little pond means nothing when you get to the ocean. You've been unable to get the better of Oklahoma in a conference that was basically just you and them. Now you're going to be in a conference with Oklahoma, the equivalent of three or four other Oklahomas, and Oklahoma on steroids. Tell me again how you plan to be BMOC?

Oh child, you will learn

UTexas got lucky, it happens

Alabama won, despite having 100 yards in penalties.

Sneezy , there is the ring of truth in what you say, and I am no fan of TexASS.

As far as the DBs grabbing, most DBs are taught to grab when they are beaten, better to get the foul than an opponents TD. I just saw a secondary that was not good. The refs did not call all of it but did call some.

As far as the the Kansas Oline being better than the Bama Oline , we all saw Bama has a poor Oline , no honest person can argue that. BTW Kansas looks damn good this year, hiring a coach with a championship pedigree is working for them.

I still remember when A&M and Missouri came into the conference and thought they would run it when they had a little bit of success early.

I cant believe I'm the only one pointing this out, but every DB should be taught to interfere with the catch.

Things that can happen on a pass play.

1) Incomplete pass
2) Interception
3) Completion

If the completion would be over 10 yards. It is better to interfere and have the possibility of it ot being called than to allow the reception

Example:

20 yard pass play that the receiver will likely catch because he is open. Result would be 20+ yard completion.

DB tackles defender and causes him to not catch 20 yard+ ball. Result 10 yard penalty and 1st down

Not interfering would result in 20 yard+ play and 1st down.

IOW learn the game and game strategy.
