SEC Rant: What program appears to be more content with being mediocre based on the above facts?
Since program/Coach "B" keeps hiring awful coaches (Programs "B"'s own fans claim this) I would say program "B" is content with mediocrity.
Program "B" keeps telling us they can get any coach thy want and has never been turned down by a coach....so my question would be...why does program "B" keep hiring awful coaches? Do they WANT to be mediocre?
I mean...I am guessing this is all hypothetical.

Someone is trapped in the past

Well, Program B was obviously riding the laurels of one big season, or one big season and another decent one.
Pretending, for a moment, the two teams are not obvious, let's "presume" that Program B had a 15-0 season, that included an 8-0 SEC record.
That means, outside of that one amazing season, that coach was 20-14, and 12-13 in the SEC.

Would your sister/wife let you give your left nut for a 15-0 Natty?
Posted on 11/26/21 at 9:25 am to skrayper
Now do that with Aggies going 9-1 last year with no hardware to show for it.

Your list doesn’t include:
Had to dismiss their last two coaches over misconduct and putting their university in Federal and NCAA investigations.

You’re right can’t argue that. However, we dismiss our trash. What’s Dameyune Craig been up to?

Well I guess you’ve considered everything then!

LSU is the correct answer.

Coach A is a huge improvement on what they were before though….

Because a large chunk of Coach B’s wins came at the hands of an elite offensive coordinator and quarterback, but if you enjoy .500 seasons, Coach B is a good choice. Orgeron is an average coach. Look at his record as a head coach prior to coming to LSU.

During the Normandy campaign after D-Day, when the allies had 1.5 million men ashore and were about to breakout, Hitler told his generals ..."it is the same situation we had in France in 1940...they are trapped in Normandy."
Now redo this idiotic coach comparison. Idiotic? Yes, because you seem to be making a case for LSU should keep O after paying him $50 million over 4 years. Compare THAT to 75 million over 10 years. God, the cognitive ability of the youth of this country is incredibly low these days...

I am not making that case at all. In fact the opposite. O should be gone. And Aggie should be questioning exactly what the returns have been on their investment.

You should probably get your own facts straight before attacking the "cognitive ability" of others.
Hell, 75% of what you say here is falsehoods, half truths, and opinion passed off as fact.

75 percent? OK, just how much did LSU pay Orgeron to be head coach from 2018-2021?
It was about $50 million and after four years, they got a program that is completely wrecked, last in the SEC east... for $50 million in salary. But that ain't all. add in whatever they will pay another coach for the next 6 years ... probably at least 60-80 million, not counting buyouts of OC, DC, and the hiring of new coaches, etc.
Yet LSUers want to continue a sad tired narrative that A&M was foolish to guarantee Fisher $75 million OVER TEN YEARS . Guess what, he has that program on a predictable upgrade year by year... In other words, he is producing while O was wrecking.
And that my friend isn't some "75% half-truth"... whatever that is... let's see 75% x one-half equals...
Maybe LSUers should find another narrative about financial stupidity because the program that looks really financially stupid right now is LSU's, not A&Ms. And maybe you should review my posts about LSU with open eyes instead of behind closed ears.

See?
You don't even know how long he's been the head coach.

Fisher makes more than that now.

Well that isn't true at all.

Why? You know very little about what you try to talk about leading to various falsehoods, half truths, and opinion passed off as fact.

The cost of O’s negligence in reporting rapes by Guice and others has yet to be realized. They have not settled the lawsuits yet

O wasn't the head coach when that happened...
