to the South's Oldest Rivalry. Right now, Virginia and North Carolina call their rivalry the South's Oldest Rivarly. UGA and Auburn have now played 122 games. This ties the Virginia - North Carolina rivalry. Let's take their name and tell them to go frick themselves.

I don’t think ‘oldest’ means longest running. If they started their rivalry earlier, then it is still older.

How did they pull even?

Did UNC vs UVA stop for a year or more?

This would be akin to celebrating ISIS vs the Taliban suicide bombers with a self serving congratulatory name. Unnecessary, unwanted, and banal.

AU-UGA first game was played on February 20, 1892. The UVA-NC first played in 1892 also, but I did not see the month.

I know the fact has been relegated to bar-room trivia status, but Auburn did play in the SECCG this year

UVA vs. UNC

First meeting:
October 22, 1892
Virginia 30, North Carolina 18

UGA vs. AU

First meeting:
February 20, 1892
Auburn 10, Georgia 0

Georgia vs. Auburn is the South's Oldest Rivalry and is now tied with the Virginia vs. North Carolina rivalry for total number of games played.

I think AU-UGA didn’t play one year because of WWII.

You could take it and they wouldn't even notice.

They don't even care.
