Not to take up for OU (gross), but seriously? The "they didn't want to be there" schtick?

If only I could say that about the last two times we've played tcu or iowa state. The other team beat you. It was a loss. Wear it.

Thanks for the honest response. I agree that its new thing at least to me that teams are having players opting out of games and everything has changed. It’s sad times when your team can’t get up to play an Oklahoma in a bowl game like the Sugar Bowl twice, Cotton Bowl. I really do hope that these players from other SEC teams keep thinking like this before they play OU.

It is also appropriate to chant it your last year in current conference when you spank Texas' arse or any other loudmouth conference foe you beat the shite out of. Loved beating Texas on the way out. Like farting on a full elevator and stepping out as the doors close on the horror your left behind.

To fans all games matter but we all know the motivation factor with the players and coaches is a thing. In these cases, the SEC team more often than not was in contention and had their championship hopes ended then they’re told they’re playing in a random bowl game against OU. On the other hand, OU players are told that they get a shot against an SEC team so they get up for the game to prove that they belong with the SEC. OU has always had a chip on their shoulder in these games. It’s infamous.

Actually its the other way around, this is a FANS argument to justify their team's loss. Any coach would sit a player that thought this way or did not bring his best. As a player I NEVER wanted to lose. Personal pride, team pride, and as you all seem to really push, conference pride. You say its all important UNTIL the bowl game. It's a lame argument.

You played Hey, Alabama! after you beat a team in your own conference because their football coach was a former coach at Alabama. How does that taste?

You. Will. Chant.

It has no taste, because it did not happen. This is a bit of fan fiction.

Tell me it tastes bitter without telling me it tastes bitter.

Doubling down on a lie still makes it a lie, it didn't happen. This may be difficult for you, but stick to facts.

So I was at the three Franchione trips to Norman, including the 77-0 laugher, it just wasn't done. In the 77-0 laugher there were fans chanting Roll Tide, but the band never played that. Also you have to remember, SEC chant wasn't really a big thing back then, OU's history with Alabama was just off of two victories, including the season before when Franch was coach. They were taunting him for leaving.
