This has probably already been stated but the S-E-C chant was started by Razorback fans as a big middle finger to the SWC and the good ol' boy all hat and no cattle Texas club. The first emergence of the chant began at the SWC basketball tournament in Barnhill South (Reunion Arena). Oliver Miller and the rest of the Razorbacks were catching shite all tournament long but we eventually won our 3rd tournament in a row. The SEC chant rained down as we stomped the horns 120-89 in the final.
We ended up winning a national title shortly after joining the SEC whereas Texas has won 0 basketball national championships.
The SEC chant was never meant to go any further than that day but of course like most things in life something popular gets milked dry to dust. It's a stupid chant and it's even more stupid when our fans chant it considering the frickery that has happened in the SEC. We might as well just chant "cash the checks"... "cash the checks"..... "cash the checks".... at least when it comes to football.

I disagree on that last bit you wrote- it was VERY appropriate when busted out on Ohio State and Oklahomo. As long as it's used in moderation and at the most appropriate times Im cool with it.

Arkansas has had more 10 win seasons last decade than Texas- and did it with the #1 hardest schedule for that decade. Also they had more wins in the last decade.

I don't really care about the SEC but I have participated in the SEC chant just because teams from other conferences get all upset about it.
LSU baseball fans did it in Eugene, Oregon this year after beating the Ducks. And yes, Duck fans sitting next to us were not too happy about it.

Just give it some time. Everything is so new right now. After what OU and it’s fans will endure this season on the road, I expect to hear it sooner, rather then later.

They beat the shite out of Auburn in the sugar bowl with mayfield. Still regardless both were meaningless bowl games without a championship on the line. They beat a middle of the pack sec team in a random bowl game and beat their chest. When they go 0-3 against the best SEC team that year in the CFP, they disappear.

I hear you but to say Auburn was middle of the pack when the game was set up to be the top teams not in the playoffs playing each other seems a little out there. I will say that I didn’t watch much SEC that year so can you tell me the 5-6 teams better then Auburn that year? I ask because I don’t know. No disrespect intended.

Also I will add this is one thing as an OU fan that I can’t get behind with talking like games don’t matter. To me, all games matter. Anytime my team plays a game against another opponent that game matters. Especially when I’m paying money to travel to see them play. Of course, we all want our teams in the NC game but that’s not realistic every year. These games need to mean more. I guess I’m old school though.

To fans all games matter but we all know the motivation factor with the players and coaches is a thing. In these cases, the SEC team more often than not was in contention and had their championship hopes ended then they’re told they’re playing in a random bowl game against OU. On the other hand, OU players are told that they get a shot against an SEC team so they get up for the game to prove that they belong with the SEC. OU has always had a chip on their shoulder in these games. It’s infamous.
