I don't pay attention to the coaches when I go watch a game. Not unless they're getting super animated. And even then I only pay attention to Arkansas coaches.

Nolan Richardson
Houston Nutt (his legendary status is debatable. I consider him a legendary frickhead)
Bobby Petrino
If you watch a baseball game are you actually watching a coach coach? Seems to me they don't really do shite except occasionally bitch at the umpires.
Bret Bielema (legendary for reasons outside the realm of athletic endeavors. He had his arse ate and everyone knows it)
Chad Morris (no explanation needed)
Eric Musselman

Howard Schnellenberger (with FAU in 2011)
Pete Carroll
Urban Meyer
Nick Saban
Steve Spurrier
Dabo Swinney
Rush Propst
Bruce Pearl

(Seen a few other coaches who won national championships but I don't really consider "legendary" - Gene Chizik, Les Miles, Ed Orgeron, Tommy Tuberville)

Saban is better. Bryant had the luxury of over signing to keep talent away from competition PLUS college football has gotten MUCH bigger nationwide since those days. It’s harder to do today. Saban is better period though Bryant was great.
