Look, I have no particular love for LSU, but let's look at it from this perspective:
1. Wade was fired because the charges looked very severe (FBI bringing bribery charges, etc.) The University's safe approach for something like that is to distance themselves from the employee.
2. The panel determined that the allegations against Wade were without merit. It doesn't matter if you or I think he's guilty or innocent; the people tasked with determining that found that he was not at fault.
3. While Wade was working his way back into coaching, LSU had to hire a new head coach. His first year or two, with most of the original roster departing for the transfer portal, would have been acceptable as rebuilding years; however, he failed to show improvement even in year 3, so it's understandable that LSU would be looking for someone to replace him (especially as the SEC continues to send record numbers to the tournament, it becomes more embarrassing to be one of the few teams sitting home during the post season).
4. If I had one critique, presuming that LSU truly is trying to hire Wade back, is that they have not let Matt McMahon go. As I am not privy to what occurs behind the scenes at LSU, I would GUESS they have a reason for this but I am not sure what that is.
The simple fact of the matter is that Wade is the bright spot after Brady left. Johnny Jones will forever be remembered as the guy who squandered Ben Simmons and Matt McMahon was just not ready for the brutality of an SEC that is now sending 7-8 teams a year to the tournament.

Texas A&M literally had a football player hack an innocent jogger to death with a machete. Rehiring Will Wade is on the same level as that though apparently.

SEC has been put on notice.

We're hiring a guy who was fired for being singled out for doing something everyone else was doing. He's good at it, and it's now legal. And the idiot who fired him is no longer at the university.

They didn't get scholarship reductions either, the bowl ban and scholly reductions were self-imposed. LSU integrity, baw.
The NCAA only hit the football team with probation and the vacation of some wins.

Maybe, maybe not. The fact remains that your statement was inaccurate.
