Lane is a self-centered ego driven clown. It's just who he is. I think LSU fans know this too and understand the odds of him burning things down in Baton Rouge are high when he leaves. But they are hopeful for a couple of national championships before then. It's going to be interesting in Baton Rouge the next few years.

I thought you were all in at Ole Miss or not.

Interesting.

Lane is such a stand up guy. One of the most humble, selfless coaches out there.

I mean, you're basically saying that you don't know anything about football. How would Ole Miss even have time to get a playcaller up to speed in 3 weeks?

The very elusive Auburn/ Lane melt thread. You don't see this one much. But it proves the entire SEC is melting down over this.

Just like most fans from the SEC teams I DGAF about a coaches reputation just like you don’t.If he wins at my school and yours at your school next season all of this anamosity will disappear.Ibelieve mine will but don’t think yours will,so y’all will stay pissed and we LSU fans will love it.

They wouldn't, but then they should just let Lane coach anyways if they we're gonna do this.

No. That would never fit the narrative.

This is a bad analogy. If I have $1000, I own that money. I don’t own employees. Also, the employees in question were offered to Ole Miss for the playoffs, Kiffin included.

It’s not a bad analogy. Coaches cost money. How many coaches did you take and how many are coaching for OM that you took. See now?

It’s still a bad analogy. People are free to walk away from jobs at any time, for any reason. The new employer isn’t stealing money from the former employer. And again, the offer was made to have the entire coaching staff available for the playoff run.

quote:

And if Lane is really generous, why didn’t he let all the coaches return?

The initial offer was for the entire coaching staff to remain intact for the playoff run. All of them.
I don’t know the details of the current “loan”. Kiffin might have offered everybody and Carter just named Weiss. I don’t know.
But Kiffin made clear that he did everything he could to work with Carter to stay on for the playoff run (the whole staff), and Carter denied that request.

Did he capitalize it in the statement? If so that’s some pretty good trolling?

Tons of coaches take other jobs in college while their season so ongoing. Look at Jon Sumrall for one right now

What’s unique is ole miss not allowing him to continue coaching …

Do you realize Kiffin is now at LSU. That is Ole Miss main rival. Jon Sumrall went from G5 to SEC. Huge difference. There is no conflict from going from a G5 to a P4. Next year Lane will be coaching against Ole Miss. That is favoring Lane Kiffin and LSU.

More aptly,

I just took a new job & my new employer would like me to start at 2 weeks, but my current employer requests a month for transitioning my team.

I relay this to my new employer & they agree to still hire me but with my start date pushed back another two weeks.

You dumb.

More likely Weis is heading to UCF, and he knows it already.

Dude, we had the most hated coach for 16 years and it didn't bother me one iota. As long as he won and kept stomping y'alls a$$ and everyone else's I didn't care. Just like I don't give two pickled turds that Lane Kiffin is at LSU. So what? He'll win, compete for a SEC titles, and NC's just like several other teams in the SEC.

There's not enough rosters spots for Kiffin to put all the talent on one team. There's so much talent to go around that we'll still get ours and other schools who are used to getting there's will to. Alabama's recruiting under Deboer has been top five for two consecutive years so I think we'll be fine. We're in the SEC championship game in his second season and the crazy thing is, he's done it with holes in his offensive line. But the good thing is, between last recruiting class and the one signing this week, that problem is quickly going away. Alabama isn't going anywhere, I can promise you that.

BTW, congrats on the hire. It is definitely an upgrade from Kelly. Too bad LSU and Bama don't play each year anymore. That game should have been kept permanent.

You aren’t good at analogies. My point was, you took 5 coaches (I believe - not positive). One is rumored to be allowed to coach. They are still down 4 coaches. Can’t believe I had to spell this out for you.

It had nothing to do with employees, I never said anyone was stealing, and I never said that OM or LSU was paying anything.

So while it might make you feel good, it likely won’t make a difference in actual games played.

Now you have stumbled across one of my favorite narratives of the week. Weeks ago, OM said publicly that Lane would not be coaching if he left. It’s easy to say things after you have the data like we offered to have the entire staff coach. That is straight Jimmy Sexton PR. If you already know the answer, you can attempt to make yourself look good by offering an empty statement. And you might ask, how do I know that? I have been asking this question for days, and I have yet to receive a response: what P4 head coach left for another P4 job during the season and was allowed to coach their former team?

Congrats???

Why are we sharing dear diary moments when we are talking football?

Your anecdote has no parallels to the Lane situation. Do you really think LSU was going to push his employment past early signing? They weren’t. They were pushing just as hard to make a decision. He couldn’t sign guys at LSU based on your story.
