LSU doesn't currently have a president, believe one is being elected next week.

Landry will then fade into the background, if he has any decent advisors they're already telling him he screwed up with this press conference.

You can tell by his body language that he's just shooting from the hip and trying to tell people what he thinks they want to hear.

Reminds me of O telling everyone he was bringing back "da Joe Brady offense".

Taxpayers aren't paying the buyout. I'm 110% certain on that.

I just don't know why he's acting like the hire somehow cost the taxpayers or the school etc.

Swamptards: "No way should Woodward have anything to do with the next football hire!"

Swamptards after Landry's comments: "Why would he say that???!!!"

Technically, some of the money is coming out of football profits so there is some "cost" to the school but the vast majority is privately raised funds.

He's just grandstanding, if you've looked at the Rant or Coaching Changes board over the last few days, those sentiments have been echoed a lot. I'm sure he's hearing the same things and he's trying to capitalize on that and gain some popularity.

How often does someone post on here that we need to make all contracts less than 5 years and performance based? He's just little ol' Jeff Landry, a true man of the people taking on the big, bad NCAA and sports agents.

This looks like the LSU version of a President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho press conference from Idiocracy. Great work, LA!

He also said it's going to be done by a committee. Felt better when he said that. Landry needs to shut the frick up for once.

One single billionaire donor that could crush him like a fricking bug paid has committed to take care of the buyout.
No way Landry said that. He is piss ant in this game and will have some say but money talks and bullshite walks and the money decides this and any chance he has at reelection

Louisiana is such a shitshow

It'd be different if it was an AD saying this because it's true, but we have the guvna of LA up here as the FACE a football coaching search.

Never change Louisiana, never change.

Honestly, SEC is going to be like the NFL now. It is a one possession league and some years you aren’t going to have the QB or fortunate bounces to come out ahead when the clock expires enough to reach your school’s expectations. If that happens for several seasons in a row, your arse is gone because donors pull back and you got a roster payroll now. Somebody’s head will need to be chopped when that bad luck or QB roster miss happens.

It is better to have an AD philosophy for roster management and style (like an NFL FO) and just get up and comer coaches who fit the philosophy. See what sticks then pay them if they stack seasons.
