Finally, LSU's 8 year plan comes to fruition. They pay a local kid to sign with Bama, play for the title, get drafted high, play a couple years in the pros, and give an interview to put the fear of Saban into Louisiana kids so they'll stay home and LSU's fence around the state is restored to its former greatness. Just brilliant.

Yeah because 18-22 yr old boys are responsible enough to be left to their own devices. Jesus the stupid crap I did from 17-21 its remarkable I lived through it and I didn't have God given ability coveted by major universities where people
Always told me how great I am.

You think that's bad, you should hear how Terry Bradshaw talks about his Steelers coach.

absolutely, you can't be a control freak at the professional level and Saban is that. That's the same reason why Calipari couldn't make it in the NBA

I remember when Nick Saban made Reggie Bush cry.

Saban > Carroll

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he talking about Belichick and not Saban?

I read the entire article and that’s the way I interpreted it as well.

Bama needed those guys to do some violence in the second half. Sometimes you just need a guy that will fight his arse off.

why would you think he was terrible in the pros. He coached Miami to a better record while he was there than either before and after he left. The owners and the fans were upset when he left because he was the best coach since Shula.

This is why Saban doesn't want to coach in the NFL, it's nearly impossible to get a bunch of highly paid, pro athletes to buy into the system.

Also, I don't think Landon meant this as a dig at Saban.

Ya I doubt the Patriots are happy with his style

I don’t see a problem with Collins’ statement, and I can’t stand Bama. He was honest and upfront. He admitted that the process yields results. It’s not like he shite on his former coach.

The quotes are about Belichick, not Saban
quote:

“The way he runs his organization, I’ve been through that process. I don’t like it,” Collins said. “It’s too strict. …. He’s a great winner, he’s a great coach. I don’t know if [his style] is what the organization really wants.

“I talked to guys who played for [his] team. They love winning, but at the same time, they don’t want to be on the team.”

You mean a college coach is more strict than a coach who coaches paid professionals?

I thought Alabama players were paid professionals

Honestly, says a lot more about Landon Collins than it does Saban.

Who the heck downvotes this? Are you taking up for Collins?

It’s a given that NS is a muthe to deal with, but u get the best. But kids can be manipulated, unlike the pros. Former Miami players were quite pissed with him.

I believe it was said that the team turned on him when a player passed out from heat exhaustion and NS could care less.

He was 15-17. Below average but not terrible. Can’t judge how good he would’ve been after just 2 years. Guys like Pete Carroll didn’t start their NFL HC career great either.

Saban was rumored to be candidate for the Giants job. Landon plays for the Giants.

He's talking about the rumors that Belichick is leaving the Pats & going to NY. That's why he's comparing Belichick to Saban.
