why would you think he was terrible in the pros. He coached Miami to a better record while he was there than either before and after he left. The owners and the fans were upset when he left because he was the best coach since Shula.

A friend of mine here is a big Dolphins fan and HATES the frick out of Saban. Why? Because Saban left the Dolphins. Same reason why LSU hates him. But, I do get it.

NFL - Imagine that, an organization with an air tight player union, and within this union, many players get away with a bunch? Really, that's amazing! You keep your job, even if ya get caught dragging a girl out an elevator after beating her. I'm shocked that some 20 year old millionaire, who's been put on a pedestal while playing a sport, would want this environment over one with discipline, shocked I tell ya. We see folks, female and male, that are allowed to live by different rules within high school, college, and pro sports. These sports folks are treated differently and society is partly to blame, to why players go amuck, with how we treat these folks. Got a kid who's going to home helping elderly after school, so what! We got a kid over here that can catch a ball, jump, and can spike a volleyball like no ones business. Our town needs to praise them, they can ball!!! Some kids can handle this and stay grounded, but most will get ate up with god like complex's, if ya ask me. I played high school sports, and the town I live in, let me get away with things I had no business getting away with. I can only imagine how worse it gets the higher up one goes within sports.

College - A sport that tries to make men out of boys, and that works with some kids, but when some of these players return or get in a situation without rules, some players go amuck.

My child would play within system like Saban's, and my kid surely wouldn't be AKing on a Meyer like lead team. I'll take door #1 with Saban...

Jimmy Johnson's the best coach the Dolphins have had since Shula, and he was a cold SOB in dealing with players. He coached through fear. The stories of him blowing up and ripping players are legendary.

I don't blame him a bit. I wouldn't have said it publicly, but if I were an Alabama player who was drafted high and playing in the NFL, I wouldn't want to play for someone like Coach Saban either. If I were a sports journalist, I would prefer to go to someone else's press conferences. And if I were an opposing coach, I REALLY wouldn't appreciate Saban's methods.

As an Alabama fan, I'm pretty happy with him.

9-7 in his 1st year with the Fins and no QB
6-10 in year 2 still with no QB

Today he would have been given a big raise for the records.

truth is if Vinnie Sinseri hadn't got hurt Landon might have had trouble starting at Bama....then Vinnie went early to the NFL as well.

He's just jealous of the ones Saban let run around stealing guns and running with drug and not getting in trouble.

This isn’t all that surprising.

I work with a guy who was very decorated player under Bill Snyder at KSU in the early 2000s. The dude said he absolutely hated playing for Bill because of how tough he was.

But is quick to give Snyder credit for his learned work ethic, tenacity, and sees him like a father figure in some ways.

Landon Collins was and is a much better player than Vinnie Sunseri. Is VS even in the NFL anymore?

Makes sense - what's necessary for 19 year olds isn't what is necessary for 30 year olds.

Landon couldn't take Vinnie's minutes at Bama UNTIL the ACL took them. These are the facts Shug.

Enjoy your year sport...you will be back to 8 and 5 as usual.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he talking about Belichick and not Saban? I read it as though he was fine with it in college but not in the NFL, if so is he wrong?

Not sure to whom he is referring, but taking a shot at Belichick or Saban is just silly. They have been the kings of their respective professions for over a decade now.

It's akin to saying "I acknowledge that there is a superior way of doing things, but I don't want to do it because it's too hard".

...Landon Collins was a true freshman. Vinnie Sunseri was much more experienced.

What does that have to do with Landon Collins or Vinnie Sunseri?

Is this guy's career coming to an end? Seems they go off their rocker when their playing days are over.
