I think it's a sign of a program's dominance (and fans' confidence) when the first thought isn't "how will we replace him" but "good for him."

Well, look at the RB lineage at Alabama.

Glenn Coffee ---> Mark Ingram ---> Trent Richardson ---> Eddie Lacy ---> T.J. Yeldon

Those are some very good RBs.

Me too. There are other draftable juniors.

They are stacked at tackle and runningback. The only loss they may feel significantly is Millner as they are, by their own fans' admission, not that deep at corner.

There's depth just not experience that is felt that we can rely on right now.

Why does he hope that's it? Doesn't he recruit these guys under the idea that he can better prepare them for the NFL than anyone else? Is he saying that his guys aren't ready for the NFL but they will be after one more year with him? Is there some kind of "Senior" benefit that you get from playing with Saban that you didn't receive the first 3 or 4 years there? Is the "Process" not complete yet?

What Saban means is that I hope that none of the other guys who are ready for the NFL go pro yet because then my team would not be as good next year and that is really what I care most about. I don't blame him for being honest. It is his job to make Alabama great. But, he does that by pitching that these guys will be able to go to the NFL from Alabama. He is right, of course. Bama puts more players into the NFL than anyone else. But, why not go after 3 years.

Either he is saying that they aren't ready (thinking about his players) or he doesn't want to lose them (thinking about himself). Nice to see him admit it - and, I don't blame him.

Seriously, shut up. Why are you ranting over that? He urges kids to leave that are first round grades. Not kids who get mid round grades but want to jump "for the money".

He's saying they can earn more money by coming back, having a good year, and moving up in the draft. This isn't a new concept.

Belue/Fulton at CB is expected by any reasonable fan to be a good tandem. Neither will be a Dee Milliner, but both looked excellent at times, Deion had some bad moments because he relied on his athleticism and not his eyes, but that is something all of our first year studs have done. Fulton looked shut down at times, plays really aggressive at the line, but don't expect him to be Milliner or Dre.

Geno at Star will be a big improvement over Vinnie.

I have been waiting on a Bama RB to be a bust but that has not happened yet.

Does Roy Upchurch count? Maybe sort of? Was never the starter.

Not a starter, but was money in the clutch.

Upchurch always seemed to be hurt. When he was in there he looked good.

He does have a permanent place in my heart for that TD at AU in 2009 though.
