If Miles went to UM, and a stud player in La. was interested in Big Blue...do you think he would tell them to go to LSU?

I was hoping that Lacy entered the draft. If he didn't I was worried about Tenpenny flipping to Arky.

I've heard Steen may annouce he is leaving as well.

What are you whining about, then?
I'm not the one pointing out the 800 lb gorilla in the room and thinking it is a newsflash.
Saban does what it takes to win. That is his job. Miles tries to do the same thing (even if you don't want to admit that he does), he is just isn't as good at it.

This just gets more and more ridiculous.
Of course, CNS uses the NFL pitch to recruit players. But I guarentee you he doesn't tell everyone of them that he'll have them ready for the NFL after 3 years. You're just talking out your arse now.
I don't know exactly what he says to every recruit. Neither do you. But, I do know that he has used the "3 years" pitch before and that he says that coming to Alabama is your best route to the NFL if that is what you want to do. He also tells them that he is going to make them successful in life.
So, maybe you are right. Maybe Saban feels that the other guys aren't ready to be successful in life yet and he is just looking out for their best interests. Ok. Sure.
Maybe LSU's 2009 class just had more guys who wanted to play in the NFL as a life goal than Alabama has? Who knows. We usually only have only 3 or so go pro. But, I have never heard Saban come out and say that he hoped that no other players would leave. It just surprised me. I would think that he would capitalize on it as a recruiting pitch.

You mean the one who already announced he was coming back?

I am just saying that it is different.
You are really reaching in this thread AlaTiger. Saban has consistently stated that he encourages players to go if they get first round grades but that if they get lower round grades and he thinks they can improve significantly (and thus make A LOT more up front guaranteed money) then he will encourage them to stay. There is absolutely NOTHING in Saban's benign quote that is inconsistent with this no matter how much you try and spin it.
We do get it, you think Saban is a great coach but is a bad guy and only looks out for himself at the possible expense of his players. Your point is clear although not supported by any facts in this thread.

Has Adrian Hubbard said anything regarding his football status?

elposter nailed it.
As I stated earlier, there are a couple of players who could go pro now but stand to make a lot more money off their rookie contracts by returning for another year and improving their stocks. This isn't a new concept.

It is like when he came to LSU he sold Louisiana kids on staying in state because it was best for them and their future. If they went out of state, they would lose all those connections. Now, he routinely recruits Louisiana kids to Alabama by telling them that it is better to leave the state.
The truth in any given situation is what benefits Saban. Why are you mad? He is incredibly successful at what he does. I am just analyzing the things he says about his players and recruits and he says different things at different times.
Like kids LSU signs from out-of-state?

What is this bullshite? Six pages of LSU fans trying to convince themselves that them losing 34 juniors is morally superior to Bama losing 3?
I love those zany coonasses.

He urged Kareem Jackson to stay.

I don't know if he is a bad guy or not, although I do think that his focus is always on himself and what benefits him. Whether he is a bad guy or not depends on what his goals are. He is mercenary, no doubt.
As for the other stuff you said, that all makes sense as to Saban's goals for his players. So, if he says that they should go pro if they are first rounders and stay if they are not, then you are right, he could be being consistent here if he doesn't think that the other guys are first rounders YET, but will be next year if they come back.
That is a reasonable approach and I am glad that you explained it. The problem with his approach is that ALL of his players can't be first rounders and a lot of these guys are going to go in later rounds. With the new agreement, unless you are a first-second round pick, it makes more sense to leave early and get on a roster and get paid, especially when you consider the risk of injury your Senior year.
Thanks for the feedback. What you have said makes sense.

One thing's for sure the Bama players that do go to the NFL in their third year have all graduated...
