To be fair there are so many off-the-field analysts and shite nowadays that teams probably hire analysts whose job it is to just research one team throughout the season. There's probably a guy like that for every team on the schedule, so I don't think it's anything unusual really. I don't think it indicates that Smart is somehow obsessed with Bammer.

You actually believed that?

Have you been living under a rock? Saban started this analyst crap and now everyone is doing it to keep up. I know Auburn now has like dozens of analysts and support staff people they didn't used to have in years past. All because of the arms race. Wouldn't surprise me at all if some of these guys' jobs is to research one team throughout the season so that the staff will have extra information come game plan time.
I am sure Kirby and pretty much everyone else is doing the same thing. It's out of hand and the NCAA needs to crack down on it. All it is is a way to circumvent the 11 coach limit. You get extra coaches for a much smaller salary than you'd have to pay an actual coach on the staff.
No, they aren't allowed to actually coach on the field but they can do pretty much everything else. NCAA needs to set a limit because right now it's the wild west.
Actually I think it's kind of dumb. Too many cooks in the kitchen. At some point there has to be diminishing returns on how useful all these people are.

Such as?
As others have noted, plenty of programs have sent care packages to their players. It's not a new thing this year, nor is it even new for UGA to my knowledge.
Georgia Tech is ashamed of many things, but they're generally self inflicted. Like a post season ban and 4 years of probation for their basketball program right now.

I kind if thought that Bama copied UGA when they hired Pruitt for DC.

Pruitt was better than Kirby and we figure it's just a matter of time till he's out of Tennessee and back to Alabama. Lifetime D.C.
Can I kindly ask that you rednecks teach that arse clown what asparagus is this time?
Such nonsense that Pruitt is better than Kirby at anything. Take that total failure back with open arms and let him contribute to the decline.

All this talk of care packages.
Y'all send care packages to your ex-players, meanwhile our ex-players are sending money to us for bad arse locker rooms.

Pruitt getting fat too? I honestly haven't seen one second of a Tennessee game this year. Kirby has gained at least 40 pounds since he took over at UGA.

Both boards publish press releases about the things they’ve approved

Maybe if bama scheduled decent ooc teams they could show off their lights. Unfortunately playing teams like New Mexico and southern miss won’t get you a prime time slot.

Surely you remember the day Pruitt beat auburn.

Hey, idiot, do you not suspect that this had been in the works for quite awhile? In your pea brain do you think that these things are planned and done overnight?
Bama has a good football team, thanks to Saban, but the state is still a 3rd world entity loaded with morons like you.

He’s certainly taking UT to new lows. Kirby’s done a much better job at UGA than Pruitt at UT.

Of course he does. Saban keeps dossiers and analysts researching and preparing for our competitors. Its no secret that teams like Georgia, Auburn, LSU, and Clemson are studied, scouted and analyzed...their recruiting, coaching, depth charts, whatever....its his job to know the opponent.
