Kirby wasn't wrong.

Auburn should have NEVER fired Gus Malzahn. They won't do better than that against Alabama or Georgia. Freeze is a dead man walking and going to get blown out by Georgia and Alabama this year.

Indeed. Kirby got us in the biggest game of the year, even if our team was hobbled by injuries by that point.

And most of the other games have indeed been competitive:

2018 CFP National Championship Game: 26-23 (OT)
2018 SEC Championship Game: 35-28
2020 in Bryant-Denny Stadium: 41-24
2021 SEC Championship Game: 41-24
2022 CFP National Championship Game: 18-33
2023 SEC Championship Game: 27-24
2024 in Bryant Denny Stadium: 41-34

Your friendly reminder that Kirby Maybe has 1 National Title if Georgia had played in the SEC West

this implies, I guess?, that 2022 wouldn't have won a title if we played in the west? I mean alabama is all that matters in most of your fanbase's eyes so 2021 speaks for itself.

In 2022 we beat the SEC west champ by 3 TDs (a team that beat bama). Former #1 Tennessee, who also beat bama, we beat by multiple TDs as well. Who in the west would have beaten us in 2022?

This is Ohio State or Clemson asking who in the SEC could have beat them after they just show up and dominate Oregon for the championship. A full season playing Alabama, LSU every year is different. Look at your injury list this week .

Kirby is a weird dude in a lot of ways. When he talks about an ALABAMA loss it's like he's Arkansas and just resigned to whatever. Heads up, it doesn't come off like he's coaching Arkansas.

2020 - Lost to ALABAMA and Florida

2021 - 14-1 Only loss to ALABAMA

2022 - 15-0 Didn't play ALABAMA

2023 - 13-1 Only loss to ALABAMA

2024 - 3-1 Only loss to ALABAMA

Since the start of 2020, Georgia has been beaten by one team not named ALABAMA.

Kirby Smart's comments about, "What is your record against ALABAMA," are just crazy.

Don't be dumb. Georgia was clearly the best SEC team in 2022 to anyone with eyeballs. They played 2 one score games all season and smacked 6 different top 25 teams by 14+ points. In all likelihood they would have beaten Bammer too.

-We opened the season with a 40 point drubbing over a team that would win 10 games and tie for 2nd in their conference
-The 2nd best team in the SEC in 2022 was Tennessee. We killed them.
-The 3rd best team in the SEC in 2022 was LSU. We killed them.
-The other ranked SEC teams that year were Miss. State (we killed them), South Carolina (we killed them), and a 2-loss bama.

If you want to talk about 2008-2023 as a whole, then sure I agree with you totally. Playing bama every year would obviously hurt our records far more oftne than not. When talking about ONE speicfic year, in this case 2022, it's silly to think that playing in the west would have caused us to not win a title.

mean honestly, just based purely on intelligence or IQ scores he likely is one of the higher ones. I'm not claiming he's some kind of genius but I mean..have you seen some of the other coaches out there?

That’s a fair comment…touché.

Regardless, dudes and trannies would castrate themselves to have Kirby as their team's coach. Beating Bama hasn't been an easy task for anyone but that doesnt change the fact that he's still unequivocally the most successful coach in cfb today.

"One of the higher ones" in what context?

Kirby Smart is one of the most intelligent head coaches in the SEC? The country? Coaching as a whole?

Please, expound on this.

I thought UGA was clearly better in 2021 and 2023 as well heading into the SEC championship game. They end up getting blasted in one and run over in the other by Bama.

In 2022 Bryce Young was finally healthy by the Iron Bowl and would've been 100% for Georgia. That was a loaded roster that underperformed most of the year, but played great against Auburn and in the Sugar Bowl. Given Kirby's mental block against Saban, it definitely wouldn't have been a guaranteed win for Georgia.

It's about matchups. Smart always struggled with dynamic qbs.

Going strong and hving big years. I've said it once and I'll say it again. I would gladly lose to Alabama every single year the next 10 years if it meant we would win 2 more titles.

What a fricking idiot. I don’t think Kirby is quite as smart as he thinks he is.

He’s a great recruiter and learned a ton from Saban, but he’s not the smartest guy I’ve seen roaming the sidelines.

Obviously Brian Kelly is.
LSU's last 3 coaches have won National Championships in their first 3 years! Brian Kelly has much better resources than he did at ND! Brian Kelly has the most wins than any other nD coach!

Who looks dumber? Kirby Smart or LSU fans?

He has no answer for the vertical passing game. His time at Bama as DC was the same way.

People on here are such analytical dorks. If some one sitting on a podium being asked in real time something the dorks in here are furiously typing on their keyboards getting exact stats right. “Gus Malzahn was 3-7 actually!” fricking losers.

I think his point is no one has had success against Bama lately. And given the best record you listed has a 37% win percentage I think he’s on to something. You guys are such fricking sports dorks

Kirby was hired in 2015. You’re saying because he sucked in 2016 (8-5) and avoided Saban every year either team was down we shouldn’t count it against him, versus Gus who had to play Alabama every single season?

Are you saying when your coach is fired you would prefer Gus Malzahn than Kirby Smart. Seems like a great plan.
