I mean, here's a coach that keeps failing miserably and then falling into great gigs.

So he finally fails bad enough to get his dream job. Then, big surprise, lays a huge turd at Southern Cal and gets replaced mid-season. The troglodyte that replaces him actually manages to salvage the season, proving that Kiffen was the problem.

So then Alabama brings Kiffen in to consult on the Alabama offense before the Sugar Bowl.

Alabama fans are uneasy about this, wondering "what the frick?".

Then the Alabama offense looks about as bad as I've ever seen it en route to an embarrassing loss to Oklahoma.

So, of course, Alabama hires Kiffen to be the new OC.

Instead of gathering into an angry mob with pitchforks and torches, however, Alabama fans are now giddy with excitement over this new hire.

I'm telling you, Kiffen is one heckuva wizard. Gotta admire him for that, if nothing else.

Obama has showed us that this country is in love with people who fail up. Not a surprise.

Who could do any worse as a head coach? Oh, wait, how about Ellis Johnson?

And, Auburn seemed to actually be tackling people this year.

And little Shula. Didn't everyone say he could only work at Dad's steak house after he left the Tide?

Don't know how Lane will work out, but I'd like to work out with his wife.

We ran up over 500 yards of offense against Oklahoma. Turnovers (a fumble from an RB that has consistently had ball handling issues, and two ints - both of which were bad decisions) is what prevented the offense from nearly breaking 50 that game.

Yes, I'm sure Kiffin's couple of days of advice is the real reason Yeldon fumbled and McCarron threw those bad passes.

... You're an idiot. Obama shows this and not the dipshit he replaced? Bush, who was in serious danger any time snack food was around, ran this country very nearly into the ground.

DON'T HIJACK MY THREAD PEOPLE!

It's only Lane Kiff*n and another spell of delusion, trying to get people's attention off of his never-ending trail of destruction and misery.

Don't fall for it.

So was all the passing that everyone was complaining about Kiffen's input to offense. All I heard was why didn't bama keep running the ball. I do think the guy knows offense but saban is going to stick with power running game no matter who is calling the plays.

I'm having a hard time getting interested in anything pertaining to the quality of a coaching hire (or lack thereof), coming from a Georgia fan!

And Obama pulled this shite out:

...and kept going.

ETA: Keffin...coaching jobs have to be the result of the eye candy he has on his arm.

Kiffin was a national joke. A college football punch line.

And Alabama just hired him to run the offense.

So, yeah, do whatever you have to do to take your mind off that. I understand.

Solid post; upvoted. Honestly the Kiffin hire makes no sense and surprises me. There's no doubt that Bama needed more innovation on offense. This was starkly evident when Auburn stopped Bama twice trying to plow off-tackle on 4th and 1 in the redzone. However, there are plenty of experienced coaches who could get the OC job done without the unnecessary baggage that accompanies Lane Kiffin.
