If you are gonna rep BR you damn well better live in BR.

I’ve lived all over the country, and when I retired from the Air Force, I chose to move back home to Louisiana. I live in Baton Rouge, in a condo complex just south of the LSU campus, and I have no qualms about living here. Like any city, there are areas with problems, but the entire city is far from the dump some people make it out to be.

Baton Rouge was a nice city during the mid 80s. It wasn’t bad when I came back to visit in the early 90s. Most of the local cities saw a decline after Katrina. Shreveport and Houston were also affected.

That’s great I basically did the same exact thing except for the Air Force. The overwhelming majority of “Baton Rouge” not St.George, is downtrodden, poverty stricken and loaded with crime. Aka a shithole. I don’t know why or how anyone can argue that.

You as well I assume.

Idk if retarded or just unable to read.

Went out for sushi last night & hayride scandal afterwards. Had a great time.

What did you think I was referencing? Do you need me to spell out that Hayride is located in BR — the city you don’t live in & on which you are the ultimate authority?

You’re talking out your arse. North BR, which is not the “overwhelming majority” is shitty.

St. George is tiny & includes siegen (which you apparently believe is a death trap). The overwhelming majority of EBR is fine at worst. I like being here because it’s not too big & not too small — we could move out of state if we wanted. So kindly GFYS.

Pretty funny you won’t name your own city, considering LA’s limited options outside of BR… Hopefully you’re turning your nose up at the capital city from a mansion on the north shore / Mandeville — otherwise you’re just embarrassing yourself.

High chance you live in the sticks or somewhere no one would ever voluntarily trap themselves like Lake Charles, Shreveport, Ferriday, etc.

Two things I can’t fricking stand: wal mart fans & know-it-alls… You appear to be both rolled into one. Grats.

They’re a lot of cities like that. I like where I live just as you do and I make the best of it. That’s the way I have been for over 40 years.

Can’t. Just like you can’t for most of these cities in the discussions. I know as I’ve lived in several of them lol

Saying where something is does not say where you live. Unfortunate you can’t comprehend this but It’s quite easy to drive to a neighboring city.

You are highly emotional.

I do not live in BR proper. I am perfectly happy with that. I am also glad you are happy with where you live.

St George is not tiny, learn geography.

The overwhelming majority of BR is a shithole. Please understand that and this, NOTHING YOU ARE GOING TO WRITE IS GOING TO CHANGE MY MIND. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

But not really sorry.

Trust me I wish it was like it used to be. When I was a kid I would help the Kiwanis sell Christmas trees at memorial stadium. That’s not an option anymore. We used to skateboard all over downtown in high school and there was nothing to worry about except the cops. I’ve run and touched the golden doorknob more times than I can count. We used to hang out on the levee under the bridge and that old pier that’s a museum or whatever now. I wish things were still like that but they aren’t. And it’s not because things improved around here.

Idc what you think, you sound like someone who just hates cities. I’m just here to remind you that your opinion is not fact. You’re a tourist arguing with residents. I highly doubt you went to LSU.

If you live in a “neighboring city”, I’m going to assume Zachary / Central / Gonzales / Hammond / Lafayette… you’re definitely not in NOLA.

While I actually enjoy Hammond / Lafayette for a visit, none of these places put you in any position to look down on BR. And that’s not really an opinion.

Exactly. Lived in both areas along with several of the south. The way of life was the exact same. Depending on what interests you as a person is the only difference on what you will like and where you choose to live.

I think it's pretty cool. Not sure why people are making it a big deal.
