Kiffin is waiting on the Alabama job. Auburn has zero chance at Kiffin.

They will have to settle for Freeze or some other outlaw coach. No coach that is at a top 40 program right now is going to Auburn.
Auburn will have to drop to the lower levels or an assistant at a good school to make a hire.

Bama is not hiring Kiffin after the way he exited the program and cost them a national title
Sark has had 3 head coaching opportunities and has yet to prove he can handle the pressure of these jobs
He was ok at Washington and then got USC job, his records at both places was mediocre at best
He hasn't done anything at Texas either, Herman had a better start
He's probably better suited to be an offen coord

Freeze will be about as good as Auburn can do until they can put a lot of mistakes far into their past. Only then would a quality coach consider going to Auburn.

Saban ushered Kiffin out. That was one of Saban's biggest mistakes at Alabama imo. It gave Sarkisian, who was merely on the support staff, less than a week to prepare for the title game.
edit to note that Kiffin had done a great job that year planning and play calling around true freshman Jalen Hurts lack of a very good passing game. Sarkisian wasn't prepared for that even in the best case.

In fairness, he was ushered out because he wasn't doing his job, and had become a distraction.
He was actively recruiting on the field for another team during practice (on the phone), and was calling offensive plays that hadn't been installed during the CFP semi-final game against Washington.
He did the right thing by staying, but his mind checked out weeks before his body did.

Disagree. He would definitely be on the short list to replace Saban if he keeps his current trajectory of maturing HC/Executive combined with really good offensive coach going.
