Texas A&M had 2 more top 25 teams on their schedule then the Longhorns did to start the season

Which preseason rankings are you looking at? They both had 5 teams in the Preseason Top 25 and the Preseason Coaches Poll

I assume you're talking about Missouri and Auburn but neither of these teams were in the top 25 in the preseason.

I'd be willing to bet 5 figures that Texas wins this game.

In fact, I think it's more likely that Texas leaves this game with a Heisman candidate again more than a loss to the Southern Ohio Wildcats of the Cincinatti Metro area.

Yep TX with a loss here could only make the SECCG with a tiebreaker most likely to get in as they would be low in the pecking order of 3 loss teams that could possibly make the playoff.

I dont think we lose but Im worried about looking terrible again. OU is going to finish the season unranked.

One interesting component to this game..

Stoops and Venables come from the same coaching tree and play a similar style of defense.

That should help Stoops this week as he saw what worked.. and what didn't this past week.

That should also help Sark & Manning for similar reasons..

Kentucky played us tight last year in Austin and I expect this to closer than I'd like.. and if you give a team like Kentucky some hope in the 4th quarter, all bets are off on who wins the game.

Any sec team can beat anyone this year if the higher ranked has an off day

I wouldn’t be shocked if Arkansas beat A&M TBH

This was possible in seasons past, but not after so recently being humiliated in Gainesville.

Texas in reality has the best defense in the country. Arch is coming along very slowly and the offense is talented. Their O line is mediocre-sucks but Kentucky is dreadful and by far the worst team in the SEC. Texas won’t lose this game but they won’t make the playoffs this year in the SEC imo.

The only way I could see them making it is if the SEC ends up getting 5 teams because of how incredibly top heavy the big ten is.

That struggled against a group of five team? And let Florida completely pummel them?

Yeah, that makes no sense

Let me clarify, they aren’t the most consistent. They are the best, imo, that they have the highest potential ceiling for when they turn it on in big games.
