Umm, thank you.. Did you actually read the link before you posted it?

Wallace told 247Sports in December that Auburn was recruiting him the hardest and he considered signing early.

Key words: In December, was.
Obviously, some things have changed since December.. a completely different staff and defensive scheme.

But again, whatever makes it a good story for you. Sleep on Auburn if you want to.

sucks to miss out on him, but kind of the reality when the only recruiting ties these kids have this year are coaches and not the schools, because of Covid,

Most of Alabama's offensive coaches take job promotions at other schools, including the OC to Texas and RB coach to Marshall for head coach positions. 5 star RB from Texas signs with Alabama.

right as always

Auburn already has the best LB corps in all of the SEC so losing one kid wont hurt.

This shite right here is hilarious given the quality of defenses Kentucky has had under Stoops thus far.

Let’s be real, you can’t really compare anything between Alabama and Auburn right now. They’re in two totally different places at the moment.

here's a fun fact

Auburn signed 4 star OT Colby Smith today

He is the first high school offensive tackle signed by Auburn since 2017

THAT is why people look so stupid when they act like Auburn was dumb firing Gus. Dude neglected offensive line for years

Gus had some staffers working against him, which damaged what was supposed to be a normally decent class this year. Add on the Covid factor where kids couldn't come for campus visits, and Auburn really needs kids on-site to get the feel of campus. When Auburn's boosters finally lost faith in him, they shut down their support on the recruiting trail.

I've wondered if AU AD was able to transition for recruiting with the Covid shut down? Were they organized and prepped for a totally different recruiting strategy when they couldn't do face to face or on-campus recruiting?

The problem wasn't strategy as much as just losing the on campus stuff. For better or worse, Auburn has always been able to make up a lot of ground recruiting wise against the state schools and what not, based on the on-campus visit. Auburn has a unique feel to it (not that others don't), that really can't be bottled and sold via Zoom.

Was Gus slow to reacting to Covid stuff? Probably, but frankly our recruiting under him has been lazy for years. Not being able to get kids on campus really hurt.

Plus, recruiting when your HC's job is in serious question all season is hard enough as is. Then couple that with the fact you can't even get the kids on campus, it is an absolute worst case scenario.

His job has been teetering for years and it never caused a class to tank like this one. I also think there were some staffers and some outside supporters that weren't helping on the trail.

The new HC brought in some seasoned SEC recruiters, and finally getting that facility built will be a plus for the future.

Yep. We were falling behind on facilities. I'm glad Greene has a commitment to that now.

Well, I mean he was fired, so... He also got multiple extensions that somewhat squashed the hot seat rumors for a season or two, but our recruiting has been struggling before this season, this season just captivated everything. That is kind of how momentum works. Again, do we need to reiterate the stats on our OL recruiting? We've had some decently rated classes, but that doesn't mean they have been good. They were very, very poorly spread out.

I mean maybe, but that is mostly just speculative crap. We had a head coach that many didn't think would make it the entire season, looked like crap a lot this season, and could only recruit remotely so the kids couldn't connect to the university, only the coaches. Now those coaches are gone. Fairly simple to see why this class is like it is.

They got our JUCO transfer Joko Willis. Good trade for us.

UK/Auburn kind of seem to have this player swap thing going on. No hard feelings.

I like it that UK is going after guys that real P-5 schools want. It used to be we'd beat out a directional school or a MAC team. Still we are 11th in the SEC and have to coach them up to compete. We are bottom tier recruiting and mid-tier performance. Wonder how good we could be with mid-tier recruits? Top tier? BWHAHAHA. No McDonald's Bags.
