If that holds true, it means no game in conference will be below Quad 2

Here's Alabama's remaining schedule. As of right now, and this would be similar for most SEC teams, it shows 14 Q1 games remaining, with 11-straight to finish the season.

LSU will struggle with the loss of Reed for the year.

I was interested in the Alabama-Creighton game until they lost a starter for the season.

Creighton has been very unlucky with injuries already and we haven't started conference play.

If you aren't careful you can open up SEC play stacking a bunch of losses together. Our first two SEC games are at #4 Kentucky and home vs #3 Tennessee. So we can easily be 0-2 right out of the chute.

Here is Georgia's schedule to open SEC play.

at #23 Ole Miss
vs #4 Kentucky
vs #21 Oklahoma
at #3 Tennessee
vs #2 Auburn
at Arkansas
at #13 Florida

I thought LSU had a favorable schedule getting Bama, Auburn and Tenner just once each, but there aren't any easy games in conference play this season.

Yeah, we might see some NBA records in-conference this year, where even the teams at the top have multiple losses.

Going to be really hard to go on the road and steal some of these against Top 25 teams week after week.

Just like in football we will cannibalize each other and the conference will have 8-10 tourney level teams but only 5-6 will go dancing

Don’t be shocked if the SEC sends 9-10.

(a) We definitely have 13-14 tourney level teams

(b) CBB generally rewards teams for schedules and NET. 1-2 teams will get left out, but we're going to get 10-12 teams in.

Solid chance the SEC Regular Season Champ has at least 6 losses in conference. Hopefully what we’ve all done in the OOC will keep the committee from cutting anyone out come tournament time.

Yep, even started a thread about it yesterday.

If any team wins more than 12 games this conference season, then damn.

12 is probably our absolute upper bound. Don’t think the committee will send that many though.

Nope, that would mean 11/36 at large teams. Possible? Sure, but not likely.

I think we're on a path to match the Big East's 11 teams. Our metrics as a league and in terms of no true bad teams are better than any league in the historic of KenPom/NET/RPI.

With the elimination of the Pac 12, decimation of the ACC and our metrics, I think it's very very possible we get 11.

We are nearly to the middle of December and I still have no idea how good (or bad) the Hogs are. We seem to very much play to the level of our competition.... and that scares me.

Just for comparison sake, I believe the most for a conference was set by the Big East with 11.

I mean, ya, it's possible. Even more so with pac disbanding like you said. So maybe not as politically difficult than before.
