The comp was Jayden Daniels during fall camp and during the ECU game I pointed out “ok, but he’s Arizona State era Jayden Daniels right now.”
He’s sliding into LSU era Jayden Daniels now, but we need to see it against an elite defense before we crown him IMO.

He’s one of the most accurate passers that I’ve seen in college football. I’m happy for State and wish them well.

Daniels was pretty damn accurate in his last year in Baton Rouge, but I agree otherwise.
To be blunt Russell has a higher ceiling than any QB I’ve seen come through Tuscaloosa.

Russell and Taylor are way better than any other QB’s in the SEC. Next week might be one of the better games this year.

I hadn’t seen him throw vertical yet so I was kind of thinking he was a short to midrange passer like Ty Simpson was. South Carolina must’ve thought the same thing because they came out trying to take away the run and he took the top off their defense like they were an FCS team.
You won’t hear any FSU or SC fans laughing about Keelon Russell.

This is with about 4 min left in the game. I would have pulled him sooner. Mack came in for the last series.
