The fact that Fromm was sitting last year until an injury shows how unwilling this coaching staff is to sit an established starter.

Maybe. It's tough to start a true freshman over an experienced player from the start, though. I mean, we were in the first game of the year when Eason was injured. 3rd or 4th offensive play?

Statistics.

Fromm had a very good year statistically. Georgia didn't run a pass happy offense because the running game was also good, but that doesn't detract from Fromm's performance.

That didn't happen either. Fromm was more prepared to run the offense so that made him more competent. Fields may do fine with a little maturity, but he wasn't ready to lead Georgia's offense in 2018.

I think at this point Ryan Day is a better offensive mind than Urban Meyer. He's more up to date offensively. A better coach? No, I don't think that.

I mean, tiem will tell. Who knows at this point? but for DisplacedBuckeye to come on here and insinuate that day is better is just plain dumb at this point.

Maybe he is, and maybe he isn't. Either way Ohio State usually does pretty good.

Neyer is arguably top 5 of all-time. Fantastic coach. I don't think he continued to evolve his offensive philosophy but that's understandable as he had so much success with it.

I'm bullish on Day mostly because of how he handled the preseason camps, the first three games and the transition back to Meyer after the suspension. His handling of the entire situation was impeccable. He's also proven that he's a hell of a quarterback coach in the last few years. I do have to wonder if the NFL might come calling at some point because of his background in the NFL.

Your passing game was garbage. A competent OC gets Georgia to a *title this year.

Garbage?

Fromm passed for 2700+ yards,30 TD's and 6 Ints,174 QBR

5th ranked Passer in the country.

And now Meyer is 100% healthy and will be back next year.

I don't think he has it. Definitely has time to prove me wrong, but I don't see it. I think he gets to OSU and bombs.

I see that you realized that you cannot read and tried to change the subject.

That didn't happen. You have nothing. Deal with it.

And an OSU fan has no business discussing coaching competence this year.

- Conference championship
- Rose Bowl champs
- 13-1
- Justin Fields

Now do Georgia.

You can't automatically assume that just because Fromm struggled in two games that Fields would have done well.

No, but I can assume that because Fromm struggled in two games Fromm struggled in two games.

Our passing game was fine.

#46 might be fine for a running back. It's not going to be fine for the #1 QB in 2018.

Yes you can.

No, you can't. Unless you're implying that the committee doesn't choose the four teams...

So, it is your opinion that Ryan Day is a better coach than Urban Meyer?

That's an interesting conclusion to make considering my post and what I replied to...

#46 is what you would consider "very good?"

Interesting.

Sure it did.

Knowing the offense means dick if you don't have the talent to execute it.

Kirby actually got lucky with the injury to Eason thus the best QB got the slot without the coach having to make the switch.

Which was dumber - Kirby's ridiculous fake punt call or the way that he squandered Fields? I used to think that no coach was as dumb as Mark Richt. I was wrong.

wrong answer

Meyer was asked if he’s finished coaching.

“That’s a complicated question,” Meyer said, although he later added, when asked about his future in the profession, “I believe I will not coach again.” Even that last assertion, though, came with a qualifier that certainly left the door open in the minds of many observers.

The 4th and 11 was rather dumb but I don't see how he squandered Fields. Smart and Chaney all said the right things during the season regarding Fields but Fields just might not be all he is cracked up to be. I don't think he ever seriously challenged Fromm for the job.

Playing in the big ten Fields will generally be playing against lesser defenses that what he would see in the SEC.

Not having the opportunity to showcase your talent isn't the same as not having the talent. When the kid was allowed to run the offense, he looked very good. When they smothered him by shortening his playbook to about 4 plays and zero passes even though he was completing 70%, he looked limited.

Signs are now pointing to him being eligible next year, and if he is he'll beat out Martell and be starting in the Playoff next year.

I still think he'll end up be a top 5 pick - if not #1.
