He never seriously challenged Fromm for the starting job.

I'm sure he challenged Fromm, but similar to when Eason got injured, Fromm did enough to not get benched. I think that's what happened with Fields/Fromm.

Martell could be the starter for 2 years, putting Fields in the same situation he just left. Risky on his part.

Martell will only be a RS soph, so technically he has 3 years of eligibility left. Huge gamble by Fields.

What waiver is he shooting for? I don’t see how he could possibly play right away

Probably the racist baseball player incident making him feel uncomfortable on campus. Nevermind that his sister is still committed to play softball at UGA.

He must really hate Kirby to go compete with Martel. I've seen nothing that tells me he is going to slam dunk win that job and if it was all about playing there are way more favorable program rosters to choose from.

Can't blame the kid for wanting to play for a team that has actually won some NC titles.

You mean from a HC that has never played a mobile QB, and a OC that runs an 80s offense?

Nice deflection. This is a much different statement than incompetent.

I'm pretty sure almost every black player at every SEC school has heard those, unfortunately. The only catch is that it was pretty public and from another athlete. But UGA did the right thing and dumped that kid pretty quickly.

What do the stats say?

That UGA had a good offense this year.

Does it matter? The statement is that Fields wants to play for a competent OC. The stats clearly show that he already did.

Not to mention, will OSU even have the same OC? Not that I really care.

I can't imagine the NCAA will give him a waiver to play immediately. If Haskins goes pro, someone else will have a year up on him for playing time.

Yeah, it kind of does.

Ohio State had the #1 passing offense in football.

Where was Georgia?

Well, we promoted one of our OCs to head coach, brought in the offensive coordinator from another top ten passing school, and Day should retain his co-OC from this season.

Or this could cause Martell to look elsewhere.

If he does, then they should just go ahead and eliminate the transfer rule and admit its complete free agency now.

Over-rated, choke on the big moments, gets scraps from the SEC, cheat, tattoo-gate, hide domestic abusers, lie...

You have a reading comprehension problem. He did not say that Fields left to play for a better OC, he said a competent one. UGA has a very competent OC.

Sorry you took it as a shot to OSU. Good luck to Fields. Now head back over to the Big Ten Rant.
