The article says he will apply for immediate eligibility. Not sure whether he will get it or not.....

Well, Kirby shouldn't have promised him the world. Now, he has a stigma of not following through on his promises.

I am curious as to how he will be eligible to play immediately.

If the NCAA gives him a waiver, Pandora's box will be opened as it pertains to tranferring and free agency.

Can he beat out Martell?

I haven’t heard anything about that kid since he was committed to A&M

I concur. There is absolutely the possibility that Fields is not as good as everyone thinks, and he thinks, that he is. He never seriously challenged Fromm for the starting job. The guy at Ohio has been in the program and ought to know the playbook.

Yes, but Fields wants to play right away. Martell could be the starter for 2 years, putting Fields in the same situation he just left. Risky on his part.

Maybe he wants to learn under a competent OC?

Not sure, apparently there is a waiver he's trying for. I agree with you tho, his situation doesn't seem to fit the "immediately eligible" criteria.

Great way to spin losing a former 5* #1 QB

I'm rooting against this guy. Prima donna needs some humility.

There's no way they should grant that waiver

What waiver is he shooting for? I don’t see how he could possibly play right away

You mean from a HC that has never played a mobile QB, and a OC that runs an 80s offense? The only mistake Fields made was listening to the snake oil salesman named Kirby.

I believe it's related to the racial slur from the UGA baseball player

Never seen UGA bend over backwards for one player,

Like I have said, Kirby doesn't at all want to rock that boat.
