I have never seen a school brag so much about cheating. You cheated like hell, got tons of major violations, and still have nothing to show for it in terms of national titles. So sad.

With the fricking longhorns, it is not really a rivalry anymore than Russia and Germany were rivals in WW2.

That A&M thread on Surly is so long because:
A. It's been going forever.
B. The Aggies' shenanigans, much like here, are a constant source of entertainment.
As for the OU thread,there are only so many ways to say "OU sucks" and "frick OU." We accuse each other of living in meth trailers, etc, but it's mostly just a lot of trash talk.
Aggies...well, they tend to Aggie...a lot. Everyone here knows exactly what that means.
I actually thought Nebraska was our biggest rival when I was a young kid. It was the '80s when the outcome of OU-NU often had NC implications, and it was the last regular season game. I recall being a little shocked to learn that Texas was, in fact, our main rival. I knew I was supposed to hate them...just didn't know quite how much until I was a bit older and more aware of the way the world works.

The 'sips look down upon Aggy as someone they see as an inferior. Deep inside, they have just never gotten beyond the days of leather helmets and an all-male student body. I think back in my childhood to the books of Aggie Jokes published by t.u., and every joke played to those stereotypes. 'Sips are raised on them. Yes, they want to beat Aggy, badly, but it is more from a sense of not wanting to be embarrassed than "hatred." By analogy, it is similar to Aggy feelings about Tech.
The 'sips HATE Oklahoma with the heat of ten thousand suns, mostly because Okie sees Okie as the superior, and the 'sips disagree (strongly). 'Sips see Okie as a true rival for greatness. They are LESS embarrassed about losses to Okie, because they see Okie as (more or less) their equals ... and they don't see many that way.
'Sips cheer for OU against Aggy, because their little minds simply cannot handle the possibility that their "rival for greatness" might be defeated by lowly Aggy. It's like they think it would damage them by osmosis.

To my knowledge, we've never done dumb shite like throw manure from a wheelbarrow all over their band either.
We just photo-bomb the hell out of them when they aren't paying attention.

Now that we have been in the SEC for a while, I think that the dynamic might slowly be changing ... but 'sips are slow to adapt.
