The Associated Press and United Press said no in 1960 when you were clearly the obvious choice.

Now it’s the flag.

Auburn won a share in 1957 (AP)
LSU won the AP and UPI in 1958
Alabama won AP and UPI in 1961

Just like Mississippi, the other programs above are in the South with you. But perhaps Mississippi’s history has cursed them for years.

NO Mississippi. Do NOT give in. Screw ALL OF THEM. It is never going to be worth it. If you cave, no reward awaits you. Do NOT give in to the demands of terrorists. ONLY do it on your own and because you want to do it. Do not let these bullies tell a freaking sovereign state what to do. frick THEM.

The Civil War ended in 1865 terms were extended and accepted, conditions to rejoin the union were agreed upon and set. In December 1869 Mississippi met these requirements and was readmitted to the Union in 1870. The surrender decree and the re-admittance are constitutionally enacted TREATIES. The SEC and NCAA has absolutely zero authority to renegotiate treaties. I would think that the Mississippi state attorney should begin an extortion investigation on the SEC and NCAA and to encourage the FBI to do likewise under the RICO statutes.

4 young volunteers helping the poor register to vote were lynched in the late Spring or maybe the Summer of 1964, with Walter Cronkite on the CBS Evening News covering the story daily for months on end, that is the 1st thing that some people think of when they hear mississippi, then they made it into a movie in the late 80s

I wonder how many National & Regional Corporations passed on mississippi for that reason alone, the negative image and the inability to Recruit well educated employees to that State?

All they had to do was find the assholes guilty and give them the death penalty, instead they did nothing, the Feds convicted the murders on Civil Rights violations and they were out of Prison in less than 7 yrs, and from that point forward the rest of the US has left mississippi behind in all phases of American Life

Self inflicted misery is why you're mississippi, can't blame outside agitators for that

You mean the same exact way that YOU and those of your ilk tried to tell the State of California what to do concerning College Athletes getting paid?

Were you a bully when you tried to tell the sovereign State of Cali what to do?

News flash: some of us who are Mississippians have opposed both the Confederate flag and the neo-Confederate state flag for long decades. Some of us did not vote for Trump, either. As for the football season, we may not even have one because of the pandemic, which is only getting worse.

I don't think things are going to be pretty tomorrow in Tulsa. We have a lot of work to do in this country.
